@11_Clouds Face it…you’re hooked. Fascinating how at times we are simply enamored by
“that sound,” whichever it may be. Enjoy!

The session took an interesting turn this evening. I suddenly got a craving for some Mozart. Unique for me! But I went with it and found this

It’s marvelous. Many of these symphonies I have not heard before, and though I am no expert by ANY MEANS, it appears that Mr. Bernstein is hitting it out of the park on this one. It’s a great recording, too. I actually ended up buying this. Now I can say I own some Bernstein. Great addition to the collection.

It seems that the more I listen to Mozart’s work, the more I enjoy it. There is so much to take in.

I just found this new rendition of the 4 seasons. Very well orchestrated in a very subtile way, fresh but not crazy.

It has been slow today, so I had the opportunity to watch this incredible performance

It kinda took my breath away. The sound is amazing as well, especially since this was an outdoor venue. How lucky those people were to experience that performance live.

@Raptor168 I’ve watched this many times! You’re right, the audio is really good,
considering the venue (stunning place, btw.)
My favorite pianist and absolutely my all-time favorite piece!!
Yuja’s technique, strength and delicacy, control over each finger independently and interpretations which always seem “right” to me are amazing.

She is absolutely amazing. I will be enjoying more of her work for sure. Additionally, I want to explore more of Rachmaninoff’s catalog.

A couple of Rachmaninov suggestions that I enjoy. The last is the 3rd mvt of his Symphonic Dances.

@Raptor168 One more…a YT video I love. Again, she is stunningly good. Ck the middle section where both hands are busy and somehow she brings out the counter melody as if there’s a third hand hidden somewhere. Amazing control.

Well, the weather is absolutely terrible today, so I am having a luxurious classical morning on the bedroom system. Watched Yuja Wang just nail a Chopin piano concerto with the San Francisco Symphony. This lady is magic. She does things that boggle the mind.

I followed that with a beautiful performance by Krystian Zimmerman playing Brahms piano concertos 1&2, Leonard Bernstein conducting the Wiener Philharmoniker.

And now, as the rain continues to fall, I am enjoying Brahms: Seranade in A, Leonard Bernstein conducts the New York Philharmonic. Not a bad way to end the year.
