The controversy is about the author evading taxes or something or was it something else?

I doubt any controversy in the content itself is going to be the cause of it not getting an anime, when we get Redo of healer lol.

It was mainly plagiarism with the art in the light novels

Healer is a tough watch, but I’m enraptured by the fucked up-edness lol. Yea since that got made I doubt there are limits personally.

Honestly I stopped I read the manga. Not really in for edy anime these days personally. Regarding NGNL the LN ended pretty abruptly but there is enough content to do a 2 cour season or 2 seasons

Mushoku Tensei is fucking phenomenal. That is all.

I vey mmuch aggree and this looks like its not an advertising job for a light novel this time and is bascially confirmed to be a finished anime probably with the caveat that they sell merch and bluerays

holy shit the catharsis of that last slime episode knowing what was gonna happen but seeing it animated is why i love this medium. some good shit and truly deserves to keep getting episodes until it’s end

holy shit nostalgia hit me with the 2021 rekease of this anime. the adaptation so far with this 1st episode seems great I love how they kept the original artstyle and just added the modern anime polish to it. something about old shonen anime design from the 90’s just be hitting different. Very nostalgic.

I will watch it. Have been wanting to do that for the original, but a lot of the show from that time period just doesnt look good for my eyes lol. (I have a hard time watching OG dragon ball as well…)

its hard. but the pacing is sped up in this which I am a big fan of. this 1 episode covers 2 episodes of the original. so it seems there will be less filler and should be a more faithful adaptation than the original. personally the only anime I can watch from the 90’s - early 2000’z these days is probably pokemon. the earliest I can go in regards to anime consistently is stff from 2004- 2008 as that era is really the start of the current wave.

Is it due to nostalgia? :joy:

most likely. I guess one piece would be one as well. i thought dragon ball would be one cause of pure nostalgia growing up in the Philippines. I remember going home at exactly 5 everyday cause I couldn’t miss the dragon ball reruns on the TV. I still remember the awful Filipino dub on those shows. every time I go back home every saturday or sunday before church I will still watch whatever anime is getting a rerun just to get the nostalgia hit of the awful anime dub.

Never saw original Shaman King, but will definitely be interested in watching the new adaptation.

Also Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 is finally over and it is probably my favorite shounen after FMAB. Highly recommend if you are even remotely interested in that genre, it was fantastic.

JJK is def my fav shonen right now after that is Demon slayer from a pure anime standpoint but I love MHA. we have a good batch of shonens right now. even black clover seems to have recovered from it’s very rocky start

That newest Fate heavens feel part 3 movie was awesome!

Probably one of the best fight animation I have seen and the music by yuki kajiura was awesome as always.

Hey fellas, just finished watching Samurai Champloo for the first time. Great show, It’s so hard to find anime that is old, but still really good. My list of oldie(anything before 2010) but goodie is: Samurai Champloo and Spice and Wolf. The only other one that I think is good, but very subjectively and the time in which it was made plays a role in what I think of it, but I would personally also include Romeo X Juliet. I enjoyed it. I need to eventually watch Cowboy Bebop, and that might make it on the list as well. What are some other old anime that are still good in 2021, but are over a decade old?

Dragon Ball
Death note
Code Geass
One piece
Bleach
Naruto

You find more in lists though, since being old also means they are more famous.

Death Note is still decent although I don’t find myself forgetting it is an anime from like 2008. Naruto is something that I think I need to eventually watch, but the length of that series is scary.

Does Dragon ball super have some super “redeeming” ark like Hunter X Hunter. Hunter X Hunter had interesting characters throughout which kept me interested, but it lacked something until we got to the Chimera Ant arc. Then it’s like the show went from a “eh, it gud”/10 to a “y is dis so gud?!?”/10.

I don’t feel like I’m missing a whole lot of the Dragon Ball experience from just watching Z through the cell saga. Gohan was what made the show worth watching, but Super seems to push him to the side to the extent that I don’t really want to watch it. I watched some of super and then stopped because :man_shrugging: , but I don’t really feel like continuing the Goku Show.

I should also watch Code Geass at some point. If I’m being real I eventually will probably watch all these series at some point it’s just kind of a question as to when.
