Are you Ricky Booby? The F1 topic

Alrighty then, let’s see what Checo’s got. I’m rooting for him :muscle:

Looks like the problem with Mazepin is getting worse. Really interested to see what the FIA or Haas would do to him.

Got a link?

I think next year with Cheko at Red Bull, a Mercedes Lump in the back of a McLaren and Ferrari maybe starting to claw back the power (from the engine that they weren’t cheating with, promise) may be the best season in the turbo hybrid era. The cars will be much closer.

Very much looking forward to it.

I will link you to the posts from reddit. They have pretty clear explanation on what’s going on

The situation has gotten worse as stated in Matt Gallagher’s tweet

Here’s from Katy Fairman’s perspective

Hope it helps.

Hmm I knew of a few of his actions but reading more…well, he seems in the mold of the orange bastard. A rich sociopath that gives a fuck for nothing. I won’t comment on what I think should be done with people like that.

I think Mazepin’s case is really interesting for F1 in general. Lately F1 is not at its prime condition in term of financial funding, but at the same time they’ve been pushing various humanity campaigns like we race as one and end to racism. It will be a really hard decision for Haas and F1, but I think if they chose to keep Mazepin, their campaigns on humanity will be a bogus.

Curious what you guys think the best driver pairing for 2021 will be. Based on the strength of the driver as a pair, I’m going to have to go with:

Verstappen, Perez
Hamilton Bottas
Leclerc. Sainz
Ricciardo, Norris

F1 is a sport of a-holes. For the most part, you have to be. But Mazepin is an a-hole amongst a-holes. Makes Stroll look like the son of a hard working blue collar family. lol

I’d move the Merc pair to last on this list. Because of Bottas.

And I’d move Danny Ric and Lando ahead of Leclerc, Sainz. Lando and Sainz are pretty even but Ricciardo is a step or two ahead of Leclerc imo.

Hey, make your own list! LOL

Bottas’ days are numbered if the competition is tight next year and Mercedes can’t afford an Albon scenario to assure them of their 8th title.

I don’t see why Bottas isn’t relegated to reserve status with Russel in the race seat already. I mean, I know that would be a bit brutal but this is F1.

Cleaning out my Google drive, I’d forgotten about these. An old timer in my Porsche club brought these in one day. They’re from the US GP, 64 I believe at Watkins Glenn.

It’s insane how accessible drivers were. This the number 3 BRM car driver by Graham Hill.

I like Perez joining RB. Hopefully they can both attack Merc together.

Yeah, Perez should be a good fit at Red Bull. Albon just wasn’t up to the task of a top tier team.

db_Cooper : nice pics!

As for Perez joining Red Bull, i thought that might happen. Shame there isn’t a seat for both Albon and Hulkenberg somewhere too, as they are capable drivers, and seems to have a nice and down to earth personalities as well… Albon i think would have performed better if he had stayed at Toro Rosse/alpha tauri for a season or 2 more before he was promoted (just look as Gasly).

I think the Red Bull is a tricky car to drive, and probably a bit tricky team to work with as they seem very focused around Verstappen. Just hope Perez manages to motivate the team around him, and that his experience is enough to get the ropes with the Red Bull quickly. Hulkenberg would probably also been able to do a ok job with his experience in the sport, but i guess he dont bring as much money to the table as Perez
