It is done the Denon Ah D7200 will go.
He could not keep up with the Fostex mod or my own Denon D2000 mod from me.
I once ordered the Lcd 2 Classic and I am curious how it does.
I read totally different opinions about the headphones, why is that?
Even tests are a bit strange to read, while some love it, others donât like it at all.
Why is that?
It is also compared to the Sundara, why?
Some people thought the bass was the best thing about the Lcd 2 C.
I had the He4 xx and was totally disappointed with it and thought if you ever get something like that it should be an Audeze Lcd2 or a Dan clark Aeon2.
My setup is the Singxer Sda 2 C, if I like it I will convert the cable to XLR connectors, would that be okay?
I also listened to Zeoâs sound demo and thought it was not bad even though the video is 2 years old again and his setup has changed again.
I have recently myself been considering options that include some of the gear you have mentioned and Iâve found at least one of your observations helpful in making a decision that Iâve been debating over the weekend.
I share your curiosity of the LCD-2C, and also the confusion on the differing opinions but, those may be just down to personal tastes and the uniqueness of our own individual biological make up i.e., all ears are not the same.
I am interested in your saga with the LCD-2C and hope that you continue to update with your perceptions, once it arrives.
Very nice looking, pretty heavy and included cable is nice.
I have been looking at picking these up for at least a year. On my first day I am feeling very satisfied. Of course it is still a shiny new toy.
I am starting off with Florence and the Machine as I know her stuff so well. Also, she runs a little mini-orchestra so it is a good test for vocals, bass, keyboards, etc.
I am running my DAP to DAC to Violectric V220 amp. These are Very easy to run and I am running the gain at -6Dbâs. And I still canât go past 11:00, although that would likely change with older music.
The vocals are beautiful and in no way recessed. The drums are hitting nice and strong. Keyboards, backing vocals and horns also sound very clear.
I am just going to run them stock for a few days. I have a Schiit Loki wired in the SE ports in the V220 and will try the EQâd feed in a few days.
I am currently waiting on a cable package from HAC which will allow me to plug these into the Liquid Platinum. Should be here within a week or two.
Should also mention Wow, these pads are fat! And also very comfortable.
On day 1, I am loving everything! Of course they all start off great.
Just changed the feed for a minute to try out the Loki: Hmmmmm.
Quite great,
My Lcd 2 Classik should have arrived today.
Full of joy I open the package and see the Aueze case and thought so if that is now not the Lcd 2 in wood version then I made a bargain.
But unfortunately I was disappointed it was neither the Lcd 2 in wood nor the Lcd 2 classik but the Lcd GX.
When I called the dealer said oh why that is more expensive than the normal Lcd 2 C.
Mentally I could have choked him through the phone, as if the price plays a role in terms of price / performance.
Well their colleague has made a mistake so the whole thing is delayed again.
I have to send it back before I get the real thing.
I was looking forward to the weekend.
Iâve looked for tests but really what I have not found except that he should be quite dark from the sound and just needs 20 ohms.
But a clear statement about the sound for music nothing to find except on Gamingplattforem where for every gamer should be the non plus ultra.
Did you get a chance to listen a bit before sending back? It sounds like theyâre one of the most neutral and tonally balanced Audezes out of the box. Obviously, though, if youâre looking for an LCD-2, thatâs not the signature you were looking for.
Yes I have thought about I should listen to a two hours purely.
I know if I do that and I get then the right Lcd 2 I might miss something where I think that was the Gx then but better for my taste or it disappoints me or I liked it more.
I have read what people have written here so about the Gx and it is also kind of what I thought when I had him in hand.
I then looked in the specs and they differ then but something.
The Gx has a neodymium magnet of the Lcd 2 planar magnetically installed.
I do not know the differences but probably explains why one needs more power than the other.
Soundtechnisch should be the Gx again ne corner darker.
And I do not think so desire.
Because that reminds me again of the Denon D7200.
If I understood Mon correctly, it lacks certain features that only the Lcd 2 can.
Thatâs why I think itâs better to leave it alone, even if itâs free.
I have this week already heard 5 headphones that were absolutely not mine.
Grado 125e, 325e and the Rs2e, the Beyerdynamic Dt1770 and the Denon D5200 where I liked almost even better than the D7200.But all were me much too neutral and not fat enough.Great mids and highs but zero punch vorallem in the bass.
I listened to you on a Nad Cd player and Music fidality mx Hpa in a store.
Probably the setup was too sharp I think.
I itch the Lcd 2 classic more in the fingers than the Gx I must say.
But is probably because he is not only mainstream but also what can.
But I put on the Gx and the comfort was yes times first cream at first time.da I was directly at home.
Still loving these headphones. Today started with some STP and ran through Team Sleep, Deftones and Crosses. Very solid sound. Canât find a weakness so far, but I have only been trying rock up to now.
Great mids, very nice bass and fine upper range. Sax is not screaming, but wailing.
Only downfall so far is that the snug fit is pretty tight with glasses.
I think these will rate a lot higher than the Sundaraâs, as they should at double the price.
I think tomorrow I might start using the Schiit Loki and see how that works out.
Yooooooo let me know how it goes! Because i heard that these should sound similar to the lcd 2 prefazor since they donât have the fazer! If so it could be promising for whenever my lcd kicks the bucket!
Today I am doing all jazz and I am very impressed. With most of my headphones saxophones or certain vocalists (I love the screamers!), can get a little piercing/screechy/bright, notably with the Gradoâs and even the Elexâs. These donât do any of that. I donât feel like I am missing anything, but there is no squeal. Maybe I should have tried these much earlier.
Finished off with about 90 minutes of Trombone Shorty. VERY impressive.
Oh why do I keep reading your informative posts⊠LOL
You and others seem to be aware of one of my personal demons - A giant âwhat ifâ monster that sits on my shoulder
Right now it is just straight into the Violectric V220 which is an SE amp. I do want to try my Schiit Loki soon, but I want to try every kind of music first.
I have an XLR line straight in and I have an SE line running through a Loki and then in. All XLR so far.
My tube amp has gotten almost no action since I put it on sale more than a month ago. I am now thinking about just keeping it.
It is a low impedance amp that was just working (power wise) with my very efficient headphones. There are other replacement tubes available with higher gain that I am thinking about now. Although honestly, these headphones are very easy to drive. But I am curious, hmmmmmm.
Hello,
My Audeze Lcd 2 Classic is finally on its way to me hopefully the right one this time.
Because I originally got the Gx instead of the Classic last week.
Iâve ever asked in the store how long you should play him in and could not really tell me.And said he plays himself in alone, which is so right.
Only I do not necessarily want to listen to the mess at the beginning.
At the Hifiman he4xx then it was 150h.Stand but also so in the manual in it.
Does anyone know how long it takes about the Lcd 2 classic ?
Because in the online manual is nothing about it in it.
I was trying to sell my tube amp for the last several weeks and not getting much interest. I decided today to unpack it and put in back into the system.
Today, the chain is DAP (NW-ZX300) to DAC (SMSL SU-8) TO Schiit Loki (pic attached for settings) to MAD tube amp (Ear+ HDII).
Started with lots of Kings of Leon, moved on to lots of the Police through some Puddle of Mud and currently on a run of Queen.
Wow, this is a great combo! The Classics seem to enjoy a little a little bass boost:
Hello,
Today came my Lcd 2 C finally after the long wait, fortunately before Christmas.
Have now times the first hour through.
The first impression is consistently positive.
In Hip Hop I find n tick too dark for my taste and sometimes too quiet. But with everything else he blooms properly.
But you quickly get used to it.
The reproduction I find very pleasant for the first hour and makes fun, and it is not annoying.
Up to a little bit small Schweinerein where think after the longer play in will lay.
And he is incredibly authentic and he goes deep.
What I can definitely say is that the He4xx of Massdrop against him by lengths abstinkt. Even if the comparison is a bit unfair, if you see the price range.
But the He4 xx was just too dull and bland, boring, cold, emotionless.
The feeling I have the Audeze not at all.
Fan of the bass I am also the times is really fantastic for the first hour, beautiful on the point.
The weight where so criticized is totally unproblematic for me, I find it comfortable and he slips as good as not.
The isolation I find when he plays good, even if my wife next to what makes I do not notice it.
The packaging well, you can live with it, aufjedenfall protected packed thatâs the main thing.
Maybe I persuade my wife that you make the outside more beautiful then I can put him in, .
I would have liked the cable that you can at least choose for yourself whether 4 pin Xlr or 6.3 mm jack.
Should I keep him I will definitely get a 4 pin Xlr.
Will cost around the 70 ⏠again in Germany.
Would have the option whether silver cable which again raises everything by 2-3 Db, or OCC copper summer cable.
Since I would have to listen longer purely to decide.
But for the price can otherwise there is nothing to complain for now.
He is really justified and super processed for a Planar phone.
Setup is Singxer Sda 2 C Dac/amp connected to the Matrix audio Element H card on the Pc and Audirvana on 256 Dsd.
