WellâŠyes. But I need an excuse for not doing it myself.
But you went and ruined that for me. Thanks a lot!

Wait hifiguides members are breaking out into a discussion about wealth-building?
Lol
Build more wealth so you can further blow it on headphones lol
Iâm here for comments.
Mod mic on the Audeze headphones the mount point sticks NICELY on the XLR connector. I recommend this over the Audeze microphone cable for both sound of the mic and versatility. Not to mention another $8 and 3 more headphones can have a mic.
78 Olds cutlassâŠHmmmâŠ
not far off at all and yes stock paint just faded.
These are still my favorite headphone that I own.
Edit: I love this headphones and only would place these second to my Diana Phi⊠which yeah⊠is up quite a bit in price brackets. The biggest difference between the Diana Phi and these headphones is that LCD X will let you know if you music and/or your DAC is terrible QUITE quickly. Other times, to me, they sound pretty similar with a slight Audeze house sound.
If anybody is interested in owning a pair of LCD-X, I am selling mine. DM me and we can discuss.
Theyâre still one of my favorites. I listen to them daily.
This question is of importance to me. How was the weight of the lcd-x compared to the focal clear?
I own both and the weight of the X (635g) vs the clear (450g) is pretty significant. You will notice the difference but with that said it doesnât really bother me that much even after many hours of continuous listening. The headband system does an excellent job of distributing the weight evenly and the pads are super comfy imo. I would recommend to just watch out for the older headband style as Iâve heard it isnât nearly as comfortable or effective as the newer one.
I own both as well, and I actually prefer the comfort of the LCD-X. The pads are pretty fantastic, and the headband system works really well.
The Clearâs earpads are a tad small for more large ears, and the they have fairly significant clamp force.
Theyâre both excellent headphones, but I slightly prefer the LCD-X. The large soundstage and planar speed are what edges them out for me.
The weight is heavier for the LCD-XâŠbut the headband distributes it well. For me, weight has never been too big of an issue, thanks to my big ass head and 19 inch neck, lol.
Can yâall make the case that itâs worth saving up for the LCD-X rather than going for the LCD-2C?
ps I like me some rock n roll and appreciate bass, but what matters most for me is classical music, i.e. acoustic instruments, and male and female singers. From duets to full symphonies. Making Zeppelin sound great is a perk, but not the priority.
I mean, itâs a pretty different signature, what type of sound signature are you going for, and what amp would you be using to drive them?
Thatâs the thing: from what Iâve read the X isnât necessarily better, but it definitely is different.
I like my 650s a lot. I also own some 600s which I love, but theyâre at my office and I havenât listened to them in 2 months. I have DT880s which I found a touch too bright and thus fatiguing, and Iâve come to appreciate the greater body and touch more bass offered by the Sennheisers.
As for Amp, I"m working on that now (you responded to my thread re: the q5s.). Iâll be buying a dac/amp relatively soon. The Audeze are for this fallâIâm turning 50 and am inclined to splurge a little. That said, the cheaper price of the 2c translates into money that can go into DAC/AMP.
So for what you are after, I actually think a lcd 2 would be a great middleground. It would have better treble extension, refinement, detail than the lcd 2 classic, but also be more spacious and smooth, and a bit more relaxed with a warmer character and better impact than the lcd x. Itâs not as detailed and neutral as the lcd x, and itâs not as thick and dark as the lcd 2 classic, but I think itâs pretty solid overall for a good middleground
