ah comfort was fine for me.

i heard things about how the on ear earpads arenā€™t the best and the clamp isnā€™t greatā€¦ and i really dont like clamp

I have used M50Xā€™s for a few years and find them very comfortableā€¦and I have a giant head. The clamping force is just slightly higher than my DT770ā€™s, which many consider super comfortable.

I know Z says that, but I donā€™t think heā€™s as treble sensitive as the average person. I mean if the 250s are brighter than the 80s, which I own and love, I couldnā€™t tolerate it. The 80s are just on the right side of too bright, but enough you keep the detail without hating the sound. Any more than that though, and it would be intolerable

maybe btu the only real treble sensitivity i have is for hihats, i like my sennheisers sound but there isnā€™t much of an equivilent for closed back

Any suggestions for replacement non peeling pads that retain or enhance the sound signature?

Thanks

I think the ZMF Cowhides are a common rec, and what Z uses, but you could also opt for something like the Brainwavz angled sheepskin. Donā€™t think either should peel.

I checked out the m50x and honestly they are tuned pretty well and have a surprisingly good bass and subbass response. I can see why some people would say they arenā€™t ā€œneutralā€ with how much low end they have but its great if your just listening to music. They do have a few flaws like comfort and such
