Well no not massdrop rather chi Fi and beyerdynamic, if you compare them to a one more triple driver, blon b8, takstar pro 82, sivga 006, creative aurvana live!, or a dt770, or custom one pro plus, or custom one studio. The m50 loses all its value considering how much those cost. I

Very true. Never heard most of those. Iāve heard the beyers and Iām not a big fan of their sound sig. the 770s are okay. I didnāt like the 880s at all and 990 I like better than 880 but still kinda meh for me. I guess Iām not the biggest fan of most closed back these days. But I can see how you canāt always rock open backs ha.

comparing them to a DT770 you got to also take into account that you also have to buy a somewhat decent amplifier to run them and get the great soundā¦
one good thing about the M50ās that isnāt just being paranoid about chifi is that they require no amplifier whatsoever to run (even if it means a DAC doesnāt seem like its doing anything)
TRue but you have the custom one pro plus or the one more triple driver or the over ears and the other mentioned that arenāt beyers that donāt necessarily need a DAC/amp to run

I think that either way you look at it. For a lot of people the m50s do something special, they seem to be a starting point of the audiophile world for a lot of people, as good as some headphones in that price range may be, the m50s will likely be the ones that people will know, since it is praised so much and lead them down the path. Even if that means, like in my case and the case of many it seems, as you dig deeper into headphones and into your wallet lol, they will likely not stay as your ābest headphone. They definitely pulled me into a world that I 5 years ago I never thought Iād be into haha. And Iād still take them over a lot of those name brand headphones that most people know and think of as the headphones to get when they donāt know any better, such as Bose, beats, and a lot of Sony headphones (even though Sony has some legit headphones, Iāve bought many trash ones in my day ha)

But again, that is not to say that much better headphones these days can be bought at the same price or cheaper even. Depending on your taste.

tbh that would mostly be avoided because fear of chinese companies and a lack of trust (bad english, unknown names, etc.)
i am a little scared of doing some chifi because im nervous i might either get a shit product or end up giving money to the chinese government
i mean thereās a reason that chifi is crazy popular, not just because itās really cheap but because they actually sound really good too.
i actually thought of buying the tin T2 but i was nervous because my cat is a piece of crap who chews up all my earbud cablesā¦ so rn im just using these creative outlier air wireless earbuds i got from my parents for my non audiophile casual phone streaming headphones
(cats are evil)
The only thing I have found the M50x helpful at is making me wish I was deaf.

they arenāt amazing but i do like how moderately bright they can be with some still heavy bass
As anyone tried using any kind of HM5 pads or similar with the m50 and the foam cut off from the original pads? I was thinking about getting replacement pads that are more confortable than the original but a lot of people say it kind of ruins the sound, Zeos says in his review that putting a foam piece between the drivers and the pads helps so I was wondering if this was a good solution. Thanks 
what would you consider the best replacement for the M50s if you already bought them and dont hate them, i just dont like how little they noise isolate and closed off they soundā¦ but still want a closed back
AKG K371 imo
the dt 770 has more sound tage so sounds donāt sound so congested has a similar V shapes sound sig. and better isolation as well as better detail retention.

thanks was thinking about the 770 250 Ohm (aparently the only one to try) as well as the AKG that were recommended as well
the 371 are excellent I just feel the 770 would be a closer replacement abnother one to consider is the one more triple driver over ear.
