At first listen you may have an out of body experience. Donāt worry itās completely normal. All part of the process.
Well Iām already out of my mind.
Timing sucks as I wonāt get it until sometime next week. Then Iāll be out of town. It will be a while before I get a chance to partake in the experience.
In the meantime, I pledge to recruit 5 more people, and each of those will recruit 5 moreā¦
So you chose the red pill. Excellent.
An eqād DT 990? Itās both bassy wide sounding and has great imaging. If you have good returns I would at least give them a chance.
Nighthawk gang
After extensive reading of reviews and impressions from users across the net, i can safely conclude that while the Nighthawk offers remarkable subbass performance, relative clarity, and immersion, it is not ideal for single player open world games because of its intimate soundstage.
Some users reported expanding the soundstage on the nighthawk by replacing the leather pads with HM5 velour pads, while reducing bass. Anyone tried that here?
At this point, it looks like even for single player gaming I need to have 2 dedicated headphones: one for exploration open world games like the witcher 3 with an expansive soundstage and richness of detail, and one for combat oriented single player games like DOOM, for which the Nighthawk would be a good candidate.
Thatās why I was thinking the Argon MK3 would be one solution for all because it has rumbly bass AND a wide soundstage so i can use it for all types of single player gaming.
Unless i just use the Nighthawk and replace its pads with HM5 velour pads everytime i play open world games.
Can you confirm and do you agree?
If you want the argonās that bad just get them already lol they are pretty solid and you wouldnāt be disappointed with them tbh. Even if a fair amount of us prefer the Nighthawks the decision is up to you, if you really want the argonās then go for it, you have enough amp to drive them and they arenāt a huge investment. If you feel like the argonās are right for you, go for it (also let us know your thoughts when you get them)
As I have been trying so hard to convince you in the last few posts, reviews/impressions and our advice should not safely conclude anything for you. You need to conclude it for yourself with your own impressions and your own ears.
The online resources should not validate a decision or pressure you to get anything. We are only hear to steer you towards a direction and it will be up to you to make your own conclusion.
Argons are pretty special since only one guy makes it
Honestly while I really enjoy the Nighthawks I think the Argons are a less polarizing pair of cans.
My cousin - who games more enjoyed the Nighthawks for more competitive type gaming because of that imaging. At the same time I still really enjoy the Argons for the exaggerated impact for games and movies since Iām not after accuracy then.
since you seems o set on the argons . go for it. no one is stopping you. everyone has an opinion and we stated it. but I will say if the only issues you have with your existing cans is the lack of bass EQās are a thing. you can do itās free and could potentially be all you need.
A newblet here wondering what to choose between the argonās and the nighthawks. Firstly i wanna know about the build of the nighthawk, the rubber suspension thingy looks kind weakā¦ is it or nah? Next is that i prefer more āfunā headphones and i wanna experience the wide soundstage. I own Tin T2 and some pretty shitty old on-ear boseās and sonyās. Started to prefer the vocals being forward in the mix now (still want more āfunā tho). I dont have the liberty to return and get another headphone cuz i live in India where the headphone market is pretty shit and way more expensive and the custom duty while importing can get to 60% sfbahjdbasjkdk. And i dont have an amp yet either. Argons + magni heresy or the nighthawk with better cables? @-@
Well, how much can you get each for just wondering? I want to say nighthawk because itās easy to drive, has the type of sound you want because itās fun but still has forward vocals, has a really interesting soundstage and imaging where the argonās are more traditional in that range, and the build and fit is really good (the headphones are durable)
I do think it might end up coming to price though, as if you can get one for a fair bit cheaper than the other, it really depends. Both are great, I personally prefer the hawks, but the argonās arenāt a slouch either
Anybody tried the dual 2.5mm cables from Hart Audio on their Nighthawks yet? They look like they would fit. The adapter system looks interesting and everything looks reasonably priced. Here is the link to the specific cable.
Are there any replaceable pads that increases the soundstage of the nighthawks? And do they the sounds in anyway?
You can swap pads on the nighthawks but I would seriously leave them stock, they are fairly wide compared to most headphones already tbh (and the pads they come with are plenty comfortable imo), you just have to get used to the sound signature
Hmmm alright imma take that adviceā¦ and damn that was really fast af replies @-@
Lol, also do you have any info on pricing for the two? I know nighthawks are still somewhat expensive in other countries where it might not be worth it if they are too much
Cant get nighthawk anywhere in india. I was planning on asking my uncleās buddies who live in New York to get it whenever they come here. Yeahā¦ gotta wait @-@
Yeah, in the us new they are around 200-250 and used they can get cheaper. Argons might be more expensive and also if you buy new from them it will take a long time, and then the added cost of the amp too, so it will depend
