ah thatās what this is lol I feel like Iām being trolled because there is very little love for the vocals in this thread but the gang is just like āread it man, just read itāā¦ I also wished I kept my opinions to myself for a little longerā¦ these things morph quite a bit
I donāt think they change, I think they are the ones shaping you to their own dark and beautiful version of reality. Just go with it.
But seriously, I think they do need some burn in and they take a little getting used to as well.
Well said.
To help with your confirmation, acoustic vocals is my main (lol, sounds like an RPG) and I love the Nighthawks for them. I listen with them for both male and female vocals.
Yeees theyāre pretty close to sennheiser goodness imo
I actually sold my 58x immediately after owning the Nighthawks, lol
Still own HD600 though.
I could see myself parting with the 58x as well but my 650 will never leave and will most likely be permanently mated to my incoming darkvoice #blamem0n
Hmm, not sure if the price on the used market went up, but I got mine just a couple weeks ago used for around 175 though, and at the time there were cheaper ones. I just went for the most pristine pair.
Vocals are probably the main strength (besides speaker-like presentation) of these headphones. Just makes my heart melt. Personally havenāt noticed it being better in female vs male vocals or anything like that but fuuuuuuuck they r great. Also feels like the most realistic sound Ive heard in a headphone. Reminds me of the many concerts Iāve gone to. Super addictive
Yo where did you buy the opamps from? Can you link me?
Thxxxx, recommend a specific one?
I would go dual imo
Dual does fit nicerā¦ I agree with m0n
They never actually help out with raising the money for it. I gotta tell emā to buy it, and I pay back what I owe so I would be the one buying it, per say. That being said, Iām pretty sure my last real purchase that came from their help is the Asgard 3. Iām on my own at this point in time lol
So I got to try my pair that came in today. Not for very long and definitely looking forward to a longer session with them. Iām not exactly sure what people would find offensive about the way they sound. I do think the soundstage is interesting, to me it kind of feels like being in a larger room with speakers.
Of course will be giving it a few days of listening before I decide on anything but I guess for me as I grow my collection Iām mostly interested in at least a certain amount of detail + sounding different than the cans i currently own, rather than looking for a particular sig. The Nighthawks definitely fit this requirement. Not quite ready for my nighthawk gang initiation but am very excited for an extended session.
also @M0N I know you linked a replacement cable in another thread. Having trouble finding it. Could you please link it?
not sure which one m0n had mentioned but I did confirm with James that the hart audio hc-7 cable will work with the nighthawks
Thanks Don. Will for sure need a replacement cable if/when I decide to keep them. The stock cable is not my favorite
Iām a week in listening to nothing but these at my deskā¦ I now have two ākeeper cansāā¦ seems your first impression was a good one and I think if you give these a week or so itāll only solidify how nice they are to own
