šŸ”¶ Audioquest NightHawk

Lol, Iā€™ve talked about this with some people who know my taste in headphones pretty well. I can replace the hawks with many other headphones out there thatā€™s the good thing about not having the best of the best and liking multiple sound signatures. Iā€™m not picky with my requirements

For the moment Iā€™m holding back due to some unforseen circumstances but I did ultimately decide to keep the hawks. I like em and want to have both the elex or elegĆas and the hawks

Do whatever you think is best dude. If it were me though, I would get or try the thing out that you want to next, and then decide if you want to keep the Nighthawk as something in your collection for what it is while still getting something new, or if you really donā€™t enjoy it anymore and want to get rid of it and keep the new thing.
The gang will not come after you, we are not savages. All we require is a blood pact/marker, like those in John Wick.

True. We all stand by your decision. I just couldnā€™t get rid of mine. Itā€™d be one thing if these were easily replaceable. But you can basically only get them used which makes me more sure mine will stay ha. Even if they have more shelf life them listening time ha.

Mine do have a few small chips in the wood near the bottom, and the wire headband may be ever so slightly bent, but otherwise they are in great condition, and I handle them with great care. They are really what got me into this hobby and I donā€™t think I will ever replace them. I donā€™t use them as much as my other gear, even if they are my favorite thing I have.
It is like having a unique and classic car that is not being produced anymore. I would not drive it around every day, I would have a different one for that, perhaps a beater that just gets from point A to point B, efficiently and safely. I would try to be careful and not put too many miles on it, while still enjoying it when I have the chance.

Okā€¦ Just received my Nighthawksā€¦ Brand new never been openedā€¦ Hooked up and mind blown!! Best 250.00 I ever spent. These are crazy phones !! I realize they need time and sufficient break in but Holy Fuck they have great sound on my Asgard 3. I now understand what many are and have been raving about. Between these my 4xx as well as my 58x and my ordered but have to wait on arrival of my Elexā€¦ I believe I may have found MY endgameā€¦ Super super happy so far!

Being stuck with my Tin T2s and Nighthawks (all my other headphones are somewhere I canā€™t get to mid-quarantine), Iā€™ve pretty much been rocking the Hawks all day every day. Earlier today I used the Tins for the first time in a while for doing chores and, damn, it felt like plain sound to me. I think I understand now what detail is in the Nighthawks, and boy do I appreciate it a lot more.

I also tried EQing it a little to raise the highs but it gave me fatigue pretty quickly so uh, letā€™s stick to the default.

Ok not to be too crude here but: Who the fuck invented these phones? The sound , the direction , The imaging, The comfortā€¦ All are incredible!! I am at least a 55 year fan of music and I have never heard a set like this. I am in my 60s and appreciate good quality but have never really tried to describe what I personally hear but one thing I have found with these is I am hearing sound on albums that I have listened to for years and years that I have never heard beforeā€¦ I would like to say I am speechless but obviously not. To @Mon I say Thanks again. To all the other passionate fans of these I say : You Lucky bastards have been withholding this secret from me !! LOL!!!. I truly do not know as of this point whether it is my amp/ dac (Asgard 3) or what but Damn these rock!!

I truly thought after so many years of listening to all genreā€™s of music and mostly on high end or at least upper/ mid equipment that I knew what I was talking about but I am now I find I am but a newb and have had my eyelids ripped off by the knowledgeable people here. Hoping to gawd this is endgame but quietly knowing I am in for a long downward spiral into the bliss that is ā€œtrue qualityā€. I have been on this blue marble a long time but feel like I just wokeā€¦Shit ! If the Elex is anything close to this I am in trouble!!!

(whispers) Elex is betterā€¦

Lol, it sounds like you absolutely love them, not just like them. Thereā€™s quite a few reasons why they are my favorite headphones I have ever tried. They are truly unique and special.

The old question on burn in: How do YOU think the Nightawks adapt to burn in. Does the sound change?
Does it tighten? Loosen? Does it really need 150hrs?
