It took me about a week or two to get used to the sound, and for them to burn in. The main thing that happened to them after burn in was they seemed to tighten up, less muddy, and imaging got more pinpoint and overall a little more clarity.
That might be what im hearing actually its slightly muddy. Good to know it changes after a burn in. just leaves the damn earpads thenā¦
Yeah if it wasnāt for the adhesive they would fit so perfect in the hawks. Bet I would sound good too honestly.
Part of their explaining and others explaining is that lots of headphones use dsp to tube the treble and so people associate it with detail or clarity. So I think it just takes your brain a bit to get used to these from most headphones. But I felt an off sound to them overall that improves. Then you listen to them a week and switch to your other headphones and youāre like what the hell is happening with my headphones because theyāll seem that much brighter. At least in my experience.
The hawks are basically needy little bitches that require you to give them 100 percent of your attention and when they feel satisfied that you forgot all your other headphones and itās just you and them, then and only then do they put out and give you the pleasure you were seeking.
Sorry for my graphic analogy.
I mean thats fine cause they sound good just a little odd lol. As far as right now I just need to find some pads and definitely a longer cableā¦ came with aā¦ im gonna go on a limb and say around a 2 foot cable maybe 3
Yeah I hate the cable. You can get any hd700 cable from amazon it you want something cheaper. regular 2.5 wonāt work because that cavity is so narrow but the hd700 ones slip on in there with no problem
ah alright, thanks for the info on that.
Thatās not my relationship with them, but each manās experiences may differ.
What happens between a man and his Nighthawks stays between a man and his Nighthawksā¦
LMAO
thats interesting. So, I canāt get them to fit but I wanted to do a test. I took off my old hyperx cloud pads havenāt used them in ages. Sure enough no longer is it muffled but its now in your face aggressive. These thing responds pretty damn well to a pad swap
I can give you an ideaā¦
Mine pull me in and like to go hard, but can be gentle too. It depends on what they want, pretty dominant. Very intimate and passionate, lots of emotion. They are my #1. Nothing comes close.
idk manā¦ these rival my dt 1990s im at a loss
so, howd you guys get other pads to fit on theseā¦ having some issues as the normal pads click into place. got done listening to them lolā¦ Threw them over to my laptop with sound burn in on friggin repeat. says 150 hour burn in time. Popped up pink noise on repeat gonna let them sit.
Mine arrived today, really enjoying them so far, but this cable is being so annoying its constantly having a bad connection through the 1/4" adaptor, canāt wait for my stuff from Oidio cables to arrive so I can make a custom one for this.
Sweet, btw the pillows sound great on them lol FYI
Never even got the stock cable out of the case since I have a 2.5 TS cable from HAC that works perfect. Enjoy, and welcome to the āgangā!
I bought the OG hawks brand new never opened in March and I also never touched the cable (s) bought a 700 cable as well, before I even got my Hawks!! Love them and always will.
Awesome! You should try the suede pads too. Those are my favorite, they really bring out the bass and unique imaging qualities they have. See which pads you like more.
I just got mine in and starting to go through a playlist I made for 1770s. āErgotā by Damian Lazarus is a fun test track. Smooth, liquidy bass melody over a bunch of crisp details and fun spatial stuff.
Iām barely started, and of course thereās a whole āneeds burninā caveat, but I can see these going places.
