I remember brainwavz suede pads sounding about the same as the nh suede pads and added a bit more comfort. The stock pads are very comfy to me

actually kinda curious, to anyone out there with a nighthawk carbon, if they would be willing to run a test if they have some alternative pads.

Ill try with my Brainwavz suede and angled hybrids, sorry, I donā€™t have the greatest selection atm smh :frowning:

Ill try out my brainwavz suedes on these again. I also have Sendy Aiva pads I might try those out as well just out of curiousity.

Sendy pads were unbearable for me with the nighthawks. I donā€™t think I lasted 5 seconds.

Over the stock pads I used a ZMF lambskin perf, but it does get up there in the treble a bit. If you are looking for a cleaner sound.

I do like the Universe Suede perf, overall, it is like the stock suede but with more clarity. I donā€™t use it because it it more likely on a ZMF headphone rather than a nighthawk.

I have those same zmf pads. Iā€™ll definitely auditions those as well

I personally have never been a huge fan of suedesā€¦ I typically seem to venture towards a sheepskin with perforations(more breathable) and velour cause beyerdynamicā€¦ I suppose if they bring up the treble and clean up that slight muffle to it it works for me especially if its much more comfortableā€¦ definitely need a bigger pad. I would like the bring up the treble just a tad though

The uni perf lambs decrease the bass slightly below to what Iā€™d call neutral, mainly comparing to the dt1990 with a pads. Improves clarity and treble but as a result they sound too thin.

Brainwavz suedes: same sound sig as nh suede but bigger soundstage, nh suedes are more in your face which I kinda like more.

Angled hybrid brainwavz: Like the zmf pads but a bit more full sounding.

The sendy aiva pads earhole size is kinda small. You probably wont like the fit of those.

So as far as I know for now the suedes seem to be the best option and a bigger soundstage is always welcome in my book. So that or the zmf lambskin perf. Which size of the suedes did you use from brainwavz? Was considering the XL if they will even fit.

Have you tried the leather ones that come with them? Or did you get them used without the leather or something?

you mean the thin leather ear shaped ones? no go on that front. sound good but not comfortable.

I have the ovals. The XL pads are way bigger and could sound different to the ovals. Theyā€™re big enough that you can just fit it around the whole earcup.

hmm, I mean I donā€™t own any of these is the issue. My issue is that my ears really are that big lol. Makes things complicated. That and brainwavz has yet to even ship out my last order and its been about 8 days now.

Aw bummer so the pads are big to fit around but you want more depth?

The two pads I have the suede and the leather both donā€™t really work for me. My ears are as big as the suede and the leather just isnā€™t ideal. Would need a replacement ear pad something larger. At the same time like I said would prefer something a little cleaner while being comfortable. Sound staging being wider is always a plus. That ever so slight muffle throws me off lol typically I could ignore it but I can tell the treble is dialed back which may be causing that slight muffling and I definitely need different pads. I increased the treble slightly using an equalizer which helped. Love the headphones just definitely need diff pads on it and the issue is ear size lol I was thinking of getting XL pads in this case but not sure how it would perform sound wise of if they would even fit on the headphones properly.

So Iā€™m hoping I just wasnā€™t stupid before because Iā€™m keeping the bw oval suede on mineā€¦ God the comfort and the sound is still there, no complaints from me. They have my endorsement on a a swap.

Awwww bummer. I like the pads overall but theyā€™re cutting it close to too small. Aeon pads would be perfect for the hawks if they were attached normally instead of the dumb adhesive the aeons use. Egh.

I noticed a burn in period on mine. Whether it was mostly brain burn-in or actual driver burn-in Iā€™m not sure, but I started off thinking they were pretty good, and now I think they are great. Iā€™m running off the exact same D10 / Liquid Spark combo as you BTW.

Interesting. So am I crazy about that odd sound then? you get that same odd muffle as well? its present but just slightly there. Wondering if thatll burn out of the sound. @AECH still havent got my aeons lol didnt know they used a adhesive thats dumb. Curious on the ear pads but at this point dont think I will be able to alter it at any point right now shipping doesnt seem to be getting anywhere from brainwavz may need to look at a 3rd party seller for them
