I am actually kinda shocked and impressed by this forum. I have seen and been a part of forums on subjects with far less strong opinions then audio gear tends to have and this form is really civil and respectful (well for the internet).

Good rule of thumb to mentally marginize the assholes

I will have to add that to my list. Finding new music is my favorite part of this forum by far.
Also it took me way too long to realize that Hatsune Miku was the female voice track on Kill Jill. And now that I know that distinctive not quite human quality is so obvious.

Something else that helps with having a pleasant experience around here is remembering that you can mute threads. 
There are a couple touchy topics, but yeah, in general this community has been really fantastic. I’ve been recommended so much great music and I have a great audio setup that I’m really happy with thanks to recs from forum friends.

that was always part of the site but it seems like a lot of the genuine enthusiasts have or are just walking away.
Leaving shills and their Psycophants as a uncomfortable large part of the daily posters.

I guess that for any platform, there are threads where people unleash their bias and toxicity.
There are threads that are very helpful and with people who share the same tastes.
I personally only follow two threads there for gear I own to see suggestions of pairing and ideas from people.
I won’t make friends here, but reading this thread it is not all positivity and love 
the problem is us, human rather than the location.
Let’s agree this hobby has so many myths and personal taste, it makes it entertaining at least!
