High praises from the man himself! One thing Iā€™m curious about is whether it has the similar issue of thinness and note-weight that other planars haveā€¦ impressions?

Not at all.
Sounds like a great DD but faster.
S12 and 7Hz have a planar hum (best way to describe)
These donā€™t
No idea why

Oh boy, natural timbre as well?? :eyes: Maybe due to the other drivers? Guess this will be my very first planar :sunglasses:

Will be waiting for the review!

Maybe I suck at googling, but what is a PTZ driver? All I can find is PTZ cameras

Thanks Chris

Piezo, if not mistaken

I guess the next question is:

Is this particular Piezo PTZ driver:

A: A regular driver
B: Bone conduction driver
C: Both?

Piezoā€™s are usually tweeters so Iā€™d say regular :+1:

They are usually used as tweeters (LZ A7), but they also can do full spectrum (1More Earbuds).

If they are the regular type, they have a more ā€œexoticā€ timbre. Iā€™m not the biggest fan due to past experiences, but thereā€™s good implementations. Iā€™m very curious about that Planar + Piezo timbre, although Iā€™m pretty sure Iā€™d prefer full planar.

The open back system and the tuning has all my curiosity tho. Might be a way to fix S12/Timeless stage and imaging chops.

Covering the open back results in lost bass

It is written on the product box and on the website it is bone conduction type of implementation

I dislike piezo trebs.
None to be heard here. most calm treb of the S12/7Hz/HooK-X
Closing the back decreases bass
Covering open back headphones and IEM often increase bass
What thatā€™s doingā€¦I dunno.
Sounds damn good though

I was going to say the same thing. Doesnā€™t covering the open back of a headphone typically increase bass and reduce stage etc.? Iā€™m very very interested in these and I hope to see some kind of comparison between the HOOK and the Timeless. If itā€™s any kind of upgrade, I might consider selling a few sets, including the timeless, to pick a pair up :face_with_monocle:

What may happen is that it is not closing but touching the housing that dampens the low frequencies more than it is designed (those frequencies are transfered via contact to your pinna/concha on purpose - that is the intention of BC). See if it is also the case while you just touch the housing with your fingers not necessarily closing the whole inlet

ā€¦and your take on the Serial for sure!

My Canon came and so far, I have to say I prefer the Serial. We all know how little ā€œso farā€ counts for after less than a full day, or even a week, but for what itā€™s worth Iā€™m preferring them by quite a bit. Iā€™ve had the Canons set on 100 (bass boosted only) and 110.

Thank you for the review. I now got hyped  on Raptgo. Probably it will be my next planar set after the Timeless. Iā€™m curious on sound comparison to another open-back planar IEMs like Audeze also fit comparison to Timeless or S12
