Just ordered the Airships today via coin toss, since I cannot decide between this and the ThieAudio Elixirs. I hope this one is going to cater to my tastes since I prefer a balanced/neutral sound signature, and it’s about time to get a Kato replacement since I am sick of Moondrop’s QC issues that I had with my Starfield, Aria and Kato.

+1 - although that BGVP shell looks dope - hifigo need to sort their product descriptions, I be like 4 DDs plus 4 ESTs and 4BAs

I was going to trade expensive iems. How do you usually do it to cover both parties?
Looking at those BGVP ED12, I was shocked to discover that the red sequin might be the boring color option, the blue/purple stardust swirl is pretty dope.
I am with you, I would assume that anything with that many drivers isn’t fitting in my ears.

Hi Chris did you ever get a good listen to the Seek Real Fusion? Thoughts looks interesting? I know you liked the Airship.
All the numbers in the scale end in zero, so I’m assuming that’s 10db per green line…

Are my eyes deceiving me or is that graph looking a lot like a sub-bass boosted illumination?
I looked at Sqig graphs looks like a Teas2 with more treble energy to me?
looks like a Falcon Pro with even more bass and big roll-off after 5k.

I have never been a fan of the official graphs. They always look off to me. This is why I was hoping HBB would get it!
Looking at the official Penon Fan graph it looks like all the dbs end in .0 (75.0, 80.0) so it could be anything. Someone on head fi mentioned it had 7db of bass and if that’s true it’s likely the scale is increments of 5 instead of 10
This is where human beta testers…coughReveiwerscough come in and save us Plebs! It’s kinda odd how Penon doesnt have a bad reputation for their sets, but nobody gets them regularly to test, since they dont seem to send units out for review. And thus we dont know anything about them, though apparently they don’t suck

I was perusing the used market and found XENNS UP that I was always intrigued by. For $175~ more I can get UM MEXT, which the seller noted is similar to the former. Is it worth it to spend a bit more for the latter?
They are similar. UM has a BC effect that is subtle but present and XENNS has a EST treb which sounds a bit better than MEXT. It’s a close call. If you already have a tribrid maybe give MEXT a try. I don’t think one is “better” than other.

Apparently the seller doesn’t have a used XENNS UP rn and a new set costs the same as the used MEXT. I think I’ll grab the MEXT for now and XENNS UP later
