Pls add tape-modded Zen to this bass boost test list. Cheers
I wouldnt call that a basshead iem even with it.
(although perhaps regular tape could boost it more.)
Yep Vega bass solid
Editedā¦For Chris I like this from that album for bass and an all around mix lolā¦
One of my favourite tracks to try now that Iāve heard it.
Even my SVS sub barely does anything on the last low note, but when I tried my basshead rig (V-Modas EQād and powered), there is definitely information down there - so when I get back home, I canāt wait to see what the SZ-2000s do.
I wouldnāt expect most things to respond forcefully with the lower notes, but at least the first two >=)
Big up Campfire!
I liked their Cascades, but not their IEMs, but wouldnāt mind hearing them again after so many years!
Gonna have to grab the Vega now
Cool interested to know what you think
Yello and Boris has always had solid bass
Iām interested to see what Chris decides on track wiseā¦surely thereās no one bass track as thereās way too many things that come together to make up a definitive bass massive set
Yes how about with regular tape & eq boost?
Regular tape should boost the bass more than micropore. EQ doesnt work very well with the Zen (none of my Dunu iems work well with EQ) though,
Ahh okay , thanks. Hopefully they give the pro a little more. I donāt need crazy amounts of bass but yeah.
What about a troll track like Aliquot
Nah, thereās too many different notes to consider haha.
Used to be On My Level by Wiz, something like the YouTube version of Monkey Suit by Bruno Mali has strong mid bass punch and nice sub bass rolls, butā¦thereās no real bass guitar or anything.
Something like Kites by Submotion Orchestra at least has real instruments, a very challenging ending as well as individual mid and sub bass hits that benefit things that can resolve texture wellā¦
But itās gotta be something he knows will fit with his testing
One song will be challenging, but may take down the work load and make things easier to document, IDK.
Another one @hawaiibadboy might want to try for the basshead list.
Needs my DIY foam mod and also the micropore tape mod (taping the inner vent).
Yeahā¦ like on āWhen the Levee Breaksāā¦ Z1R probably more bass ātechnicallyā correct but Vega is deffo bass king on that replay so ā¦gonna be interesting for sure.
Both of these are awesome >=D
Nearly had a nose bleed on the break down of that first one because of that mid bass kick xD
Yeah, I feel like that track is more testing technicalities though as opposed to testing a drivers ability to handle bass. Really epic track.
Gonna throw you BASSHEADS some loveā¦ ENJOY!
Obviously I rec flac files, not YouTube compressed garbage but hopefully some of these tracks might tickle that bass head of yours. Interested if you guys have favorite tracks that highlight your favorite frequencies?
Haha, I was just trawling backwards through the Bass Gods Approved forum.
I will run these now - I feel like Iāve heard the first one and the Tool album got universal love (at least in the headphone groups I was in - literally just posted multiple times lol).
EDIT
Holy crap, Mindwar is epic! Gonna check out the whole Coexist album!
The Woods is absolute dirt haha, so sick!
Ha ha! I believe Mindwar is Billy Sheehan. Itās pretty savage. The bass on that track is on the verge of completely falling apart into a distorted mess but it retains detail and clarity somehow.
If you know how itās supposed to sound properly, itās a great track to test because it will fall apart in clarity on a transducer that canāt reproduce it properly.
Excited youāre appreciating some of my favs!
