Hi bro!!! Thanks for the tip and the video demonstration - appreciated!
In my case, the through hole is only to relieve pressure in the ear, since I work at a computer 12 hours a day this is very important for me and for all people too!
We know that when using in-canal headphones the ear is partially in vacuum, when we use headphones for a long time intra-canal pressure is created and the ear starts to hurt and we have to remove the headphones periodically + to this we have to increase the volume, this is such a side effect of the vacuum about it told Bogdan Belononozhno founder of Fir Audio.
I have already made the same hole (as you have) only I made it and brought out the other side on the faceplate as on (my screenshot) where the phase inverter on the other side to not get earwax in the speaker.
I don’t have a 3d printer, I order printing from my friend and because of this I have to wait, in the future I will buy myself a 3d printer to spend less time on manufacturing. Now the speaker without this hole plays at 8hz without clipping.

Brother! and how did you achieve such a volume at low frequencies? Are these all 2mm filters?

My current dac amp cannot power this iem at all. I’m getting blips and clips everytime I try to record or play music. I have to check at different volumes almost a 100times to make sure it’s not a driver or circuit issue . I’ll probably need 1W minimum to comfortably power my iem :smiling_face_with_tear:

2mm 2 yellow dampers and almost 500uf caps
Also hell lot of lpad on the BAs

If I was using a sealed enclosure for the dd, it should be relatively easier. I’m using the method with lowest efficiency, with the only advantage being that I’m forcing the driver to play much louder with some vibration even, the controlled airflow system also makes the bass feel different from the usual pressured feeling. Feels more open and lingering with low constant vibration that it feels like I’m in a car. I just fell asleep yesterday during testing

I’ve been using the earphones for 5 days now, they don’t give me any discomfort, the shape fits me! Considering that my ears are not very big. I also gave the earphones to my friends to try on and they didn’t cause any discomfort either. As for the vibration.
These are probably the most vibrating earphones I’ve heard…
The vibration from that big speaker is well transmitted into the case, and because of that vibrates that I feel like the earphones are going to fall out of my ears… and I’m not exaggerating.
This is probably the reason why the manufacturers use a metal case.

Headphones are an entirely different beast altogether.

i wonder how my new one (your unit) will measure, previous model I couldn’t feel any vibrations, not even a bit. This one however… puts a smile on my face. Its not even a Bone Conductor

Don’t need a BC but a resin or acrylic shell hepls a lot. Metal shells eat up the energy

i stuffed a glutack onto the nozzle and could still hear the dd play through the sealed shell, prolly the vents, but its there, I could say that this does Bone conduction but I’ll think about mentioning that for marketing after seeing the readings on your side.

just remembered, the glu tack blocked my canal also, so definitely some sort of bone conduction going on
