Hey sorry for the late reply, just got some free time.
Listened to all three, and I’d say the first song (Because You Move Me) would be the ideal song for the Khan.
For the other two, I’d recommend the QKZ HBB - they’re not a good fit for the Khan (mid-bass scoop is real when it comes to drums, bass guitars, male vocals, and just rock in general).
Oh I’m liking Movement. Never heard of them before. I love finding new music but, it’s hard in the digital age keeping up with everything. Maybe it’s also because I’m about to turn 40. Tend to just go back to the older stuff when the hunt for new stuff gets rough.
Do you have any playlist you could DM me that are of similar style and of new’ish releases like this. Movements singer is giving me Tim McIlrath from Rise Against crossed with Ben Jorgensen of Armor for Sleep vibes. Like a more refined and not as rough version of them combined. Same for the band too. Man you brought me on a nostalgia trip of my late teens and early twenties.
Hell yeah dude. It’s post hardcore genre. Same genre as the bands you listed. I love Armor For Sleep and seen them live a few times. if you have spotify checkout a playlist called “Crash Course”. It has a ton of bands/songs with similar sounds like all three of those bands listed. I’ll share some more songs/bands I enjoy. Hope whoever sees this will find a new band to enjoy too.
I’m not familiar with anything you linked but, definitely a handful of the bands in the playlist. Looking forward to listening to them. I used to wear out Underoath, Alexisonfire and Silverstein years ago and occasionally still listen to them. Mostly on a reggae and EDM trip, particularly Cali Roots Reggae and PsyTrance, these days when hunting for new music. If I’m not hunting it’s just shuffle on 8k songs spanning every imaginable genre and decade. Fun fact my wife and I went to high school with some of the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus members. Saw them a few times in dive venues before they hit it big. The Florida Post Hardcore and Ska scene used to be huge when I was younger. A lot of great memories my wife and I had driving around Florida hitting up shows.
Rec away man, and yes this has that bass that is fat and hits, a bunch of my library really goes well with the Khan, @hawaiibadboy Chris try these with Khan sometime oooof
I appreciate that, we try to bring the goods over there, Khan does an excellent job with electronic, I’m very curious to see what he can do with a 2 DD setup and a bigger budget
You guys constantly kill it - there have been a few nights where I’ve gone down the electronic rabbit hole because of your recs, so thank you 7Hertz is releasing a 2DD set sometime this year so I’m interested to see what they do differently for sure - also curious about the pricing … seems like Khan hits the mark for most folks looking for that sound under $50. Tough act to follow, no doubt
