Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

Its the “knowing where to hit” parable.
Driver cost : $55
Knowing how tune and to get the best from it : $2000

Yup. Moving on. It is a fantastic set.

“Please” “I’m sorry” and “Thank you”
I get asked often about communicating in Japan with a limited vocab.
You know how to say “Onegai” “Gomenasai” “Arigato” is all you need in even the most remote places.
Inaka Obasan will be fine with you if you know those 3.
I’m teaching my Son this right now.

  1. *Mean it when you say it.

  2. Do it quickly. If you wrap yourself in your own mistake nobody can throw it at you…and nobody smart will even try.

  3. Avoid people who do otherwise. Pride is not a word you say. It’s a thing you demonstrate

Great advice, and a great reminder

I think FF can bounce back. The actual product itself is good quality and people like it, the issues seem to be internal discord/bad management that led to a logistical shitfest. You surely know more, but regardless—I think if they maintain their catalog of products and instead put some time into R&D on their internal management, they’ll be in a good spot. A hard lesson, but not the end.

absolutely! R&D can cost a bomb including the time and effort put to always try to innovate and stay ahead of competition (especially in the current landscape where its evolving so rapidly). Sometimes after all the effort there is a breakthrough but its not feasible to take it out to market. So they have to also take that into account and then have to weigh the chances of breaking even at different price levels and then price it accordingly.

64 Audio is always trying stuff.
They have the only true isobaric set in a sea of kinda sorta why don’t they do that in home and audio ? (cuz it’s dumb)

Oh and um…

Same driver

Basically…same driver factory cost per
Tuned with intention?

Ask Mike Bruce.
That’s a graph like a planar stuck in a shell with typical chi fi off the batch mesh
That’s typical damp and rear volume/front volume meaning the driver is right up against the shell facing noz with big space behind

Yea man I believe they can come out of it too. They have got a great set of offerings, i think now with the intro of the deuce and a couple upcoming projects they have “something for everyone” within the niche. Surely overtime lessons will be learnt and I hope they will be able to make it.

Well. That was step 1 in the healing process. Now everyone who is still waiting needs to get their set and a proper public statement from FF needs to follow. And for me personally that statement needs to include a full play-by-play on how they plan to avoid a shitshow like this in the future. And by play-by-play I mean real concise measures taken, no vague bullshittery. I’m anal like that (It’s what makes me good at my job).

Same.
vagueness and variables are hell for me.

A very, very small amount of water based lubricant on the nozzle should help…don’t ask me how I know this lol.

Hey,

I actually got red tips too. I was just too lazy to reply here… sorry about that xD. I ordered from Hangout and received an email saying that the first 150 people qualify for this bonus. I wrote to them, and they confirmed that I made the cut and They kept their word. The only issue, as You mentioned earlier, is that the ear tips are almost impossible to change. However, the earphones and tips look beautiful together.

It took me about 20 minutes to put the M tip back on after I removed it. However, I couldn’t manage to put the S tip on… and honestly, I don’t have the energy to struggle with it again. I think I’ll write to FF about this, especially since I didn’t receive any other tips, only these red ones

I’d also like to sincerely congratulate you. In my case, the whole pre-order process went smoothly, and I have nothing to complain about. That’s probably thanks to Hangout. I was kept informed about everything, and I didn’t have to pay for shipping or taxes. They cost me a total of $200 and arrived two weeks after being shipped. How could I be upset with anyone?

The IEMs themselves are exceptional. They remind me a lot of a stereo setup with a large subwoofer—something I’ve always wanted in headphones but never thought the sound could resemble big sub so closely. That bass cut to 150Hz is a perfect choice. Others have already written a lot about the sound, so I won’t repeat it. However, they’re great for movies, games, TV, and podcasts. Thanks to that bass cut, vocals are not fatiguing at all, and you can listen to speech for hours.

Like Yesterday, I watched Beetlejuice . The thunder at the beginning of the movie, combined with the music, sounds like it’s coming from a high-quality home theater. Pretty amazing for such a price

Seems like Crins shop handled this whole thing better than the company.

I’m very happy that you like the set :100:

I’m glad you got your apology and you’re able to start the process of putting this behind you (fellow asperger’s, by the way, though they don’t call it that anymore).

I’m hoping the rest of us also get one, and I’m eager to close that door too.

Unfortunately, here’s where I stand with that:

Been a week since I sent the original message, and they said they’d look into it. I sent that follow up message yesterday. If I don’t receive it or hear back by Monday, my only other course of action is to initiate a chargeback. I’ve never had to do it before on an audio purchase. I really don’t want to, but what options are left?

I’m starting to think these never left their custody, that they mass-printed labels, and have just been slowly working through the backlog at their own pace. If someone is able to push the envelope (ie chargeback), they get moved ahead. Once they’re actually sent, it seems they arrive in a matter of days. It’s not something I really want to speculate about, and not a game I really want to play with my money. If I have to go the chargeback route, I don’t really care if I get moved ahead or just get my money back. At this point, kinda just want to wash my hands of it.

Honestly glad that people are enjoying their sets and the music, that’s wonderful.
And Chris getting some apology is nice finally. Imo you’ve well earned to put this behind you and never come back to this. They need to man up, step up and take it from here.

@AudioAmigoReviews Yeah, many people indeed tend to see BoM as the ultimate measure for determining whether the asking price is justified. Sadly. Happens so often and in wildly different industries.
I even have a funny example from my own. I’m a translator, and the price is often set per a ‘translator’s page’, which is 1,800 characters including spaces. So one guy was outraged that we charge for spaces as well. They’re emptiness obviously! So yeah, colleagues gave him the translated document without spaces lol. Worked better than any explanation

I’d do it too at this point, but I’ve had a horrendous experience with that as well. An airline basically robbed me at the start of covid pandemic, and the bank failed to get the chargeback saying that airline was fighting it and they needed more proof that service had not been provided. Yes, all while barely any flights took off globally… The funny thing is that the airline did not respond to my messages as well, while I was asking them for a refund or a statement that they refuse to do so.

I do hope that everything resolves for you nicely MrBrogath, with no added frustration.
We’ve had quite enough as is lol

This is the sole reason I always try to use PayPal for any online transaction, and sometimes I just don’t buy if it isn’t available. Last regular job I had, I ran the online marketing and sales division of my company and got to see firsthand how one-sided PayPal’s dispute system is in favor of customers. I’ve heard it’s changed a bit since then, but boy was that frustrating as a company. As a customer, on the other hand…

I doubt I’ll have much issue. They’ll have to prove to PayPal the tracking works or they’ll rule against them right away. I believe they have something like a week or ten days to upload that evidence.

My fingers are crossed it just arrives today and none of this becomes necessary. I hate dealing with it.

Thank you for your kind wishes, and I hope the same for you.

Unfortunately a chargeback is resulting in folks getting tracking suddenly.
I’ve seen it several times.
I think you guys are flat out getting fucked.
@AntonLtk got mentioned to them, they acknowledged, and have never replied to him direct since.

Glad to hear you had such a smooth experience with Hangout, motivates me to make my next purchase through them. Haven’t watched a movie with the Deuce yet, will give that a shot too haha. Thanks for sharing!
