Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

This shitshow is without peer.
If they suddenly find your package after trying to get money back, I’d hold that against, not for them.
What kind of move is that? You got hosed like literally thousands of others.
I apologize for all this. I knew Scarlett which I hyped, went kinda bad but was not aware then, how bad or why.

Interesting. Reminds me of how I finally began to get tracking the day after they responded to an angry email from me  after it was in limbo for weeks after “shipment”

It really is impressive, for all the wrong reasons. I’ll continue to update the saga to its conclusion here for the benefit of others. PayPal says they have 20 days to address the dispute, so we’ll see. :man_shrugging:

Let me know how that goes. I just sent them over an email since I still have no movement as well. I’m starting to get pretty miffed at the whole situation.

I’m about to start my Christmas decorations and am still fielding angry customers regarding a Summer release. I don’t blame anyone who is angry. I’d be livid.

Lets get this wrapped up.

My Son is 2. He couldn’t walk when Deuce was born but he can walk, run and talk already.

Firearms nerd fuel ( Japan version)

They got an 8 bore shotgun that will sling 8 led pellets at your face…can’t buy led pellets in Japan.
So people make them and sell online

So regarding the Deuce, I just had Ben reach out to me. In addition to checking in on the shipping status with the forwarder come Monday, he mentioned this important tidbit of info that probably applies to everyone experiencing delays at the moment.

I also wanted to share that there has been an issue with shipping related to the two circular magnets on the paper box, which were falsely detected as batteries during customs inspections. To address this, we’ve had to provide documentation to prove otherwise before shipments could proceed, causing delays for some orders. This issue has also affected customers whose tracking waybill is listed as “not found.”

We’ve since resolved this problem by switching to a new paper box without magnets and are working with our forwarder to get all affected shipments back on track as quickly as possible.

Well, I’ve decided to initiate a chargeback too, and just did. Will at the very least give FatFreq a bit more headache hopefully, but I don’t know how it goes on either end. The bank named an abysmal term of processing of 45 to 90 days though lol, but I don’t care, it’s more of a ‘to at least do something’.
And regarding the tracking number they gave me adding insult to injury - just like for most people, it hasn’t been working for over a week now.

Regarding that reason he gave - what a load of bullshit. I don’t believe it for a second. At least some tracking would show up then until the customs point. Well, it would at lest be working and not showing not found. Or are you bringing your batches straight to customs yourself, you bunch of muppets, bypassing any movement inside the country?
And how come that didn’t cause any problems for big batches bound for Linsoul and other Chinese warehouses or whatever other retailer destinations?
And why not issue a statement about that, it’s a pretty straightforward issue then?

I don’t buy it. Sounds like they’re trying to keep their face, and resorting to slimy methods instead of just addressing this and manning up.

Banks can be tough when it comes to chargebacks. I hope things end up working out with it, despite the long wait.

There’s certainly something fishy about all of it. Lots of things they mentioned with shipping were. Allowing people to come pick up their units in person long after the shipment was supposed to happen comes to mind. My biggest question would be… why not reach out to all of us and let us know that this happened? What’s the benefit of keeping this a secret and only informing some customers directly when they reach out? We know they can send out emails to everyone, because they did great for a while informing us of production delays and the reasons for them. That could’ve continued, so why didn’t it?

I think if you’re still waiting, have reached out and been ghosted, chargebacks are the wisest next step. At least then, hopefully we can either get the Deuce or our money back and move on. As Chris said, the fact this has been dragged out for damn near half a year is crazy.

I’m not entirely informed of the process, but this reasoning wasn’t entirely passing the smell test to me either, given the situation with the other retailers. I want to believe his reply was in good faith given the current accounts of Ben and other folks at FatFreq, but if I was lied to I would never consider their products again in the future.

As an aside, I feel like I’m overstating it when I say I’m miffed. Not equating the two situations by any means, since this clearly isn’t a crowdfunded product, but I waited far longer for Indiegogo stuff. After those ordeals I’ve reached a concerning level of zen about these kinds of circumstances  .

The thing about the magnets being detected as batteries, might not be entirely bs. As most shipping carriers are EXTREMELY careful about batteries (they can cause a ton of problems if something goes wrong during shipping) so being (falsely) detected as having batteries WILL definitely cause a delay.

Now whether this is something that really happened to everyone or not, is where I think it smells. A few times, perhaps, but after that you expect that they learn that it is not a problem.

Oh I’m not expecting it to work in the slightest lol. I’d be shocked honestly. But as I mentioned, it’s just to start doing something at lest. It’s been enough disrespect already.

Lmao. Thank you for sharing his message man, appreciate it.
As thread readers know, I’ve been trying to cancel as my circumstances changed unexpectedly. I didn’t know what was unfolding when I placed the order over a month ago.
Even HBB tried to help, and they even acknowledged, but never replied to any of my messages.
It’s baffling how some people get responses from them and some don’t at all. It can’t be explained by being overwhelmed at this point. Even if just one person was dedicated to messages, that one person would have sorted all mail by now. Hell, they even did some posts on social media after I messaged them, but never responded to me despite logging on. Unreal.
They just don’t care and keep spitting on the customers.

Indeed.
I’m sure it could be a legit concern in general.
But in their case? Same reason over and over? At obviously the same customs? Same shipper every time?
So either Patrick Star is in charge of customs clearance, or FF is not being entirely truthful with us and it’s not that common or just a lie straight up. That would also explain the lack of general public statement from them.
How come some super janky stuff with batteries gets easily shipped around the globe from AliExpress and whatnot, in a bubble wrap no labeling lol. And something that’s not batteries at all (and a pretty generic box magnet at that, I assume) causes problems that big that it even affects tracking not showing at all!

Yeah in their case something is definitely sus.

However, this depends a lot on the carrier used. For example, if you use a Taobao proxy such as CSSBuy, if you buy anything with batteries, you need to use some specific shipping method/carriers as the rest will not carry them at all (they are generally slower and/or more expensive).

As for magnets being the cause of this false alarm, electromagnets do exist so in some cases it could have been a legit concern and not a false alarm.

Ok. Wanted to say two things here.

1: I have had several shipped IEMs from various sources (Linsoul, Aliexpress, Shenzhen, HiFiGo, KeepHiFi) and every once in a while, while looking at tracking, I will see the phrase “Battery Item: Change in Route” or something to that effect show up in tracking.

This usually happens after the shipment has been picked up and has been in transit for a day or so.

I’m not implying or insinuating anything, just wanted to put that data point out there. I have had IEMs marked as “Battery Items” before, but only after the tracking number was marked “in transit”. Things might work differently for FatFreqs local shipping partner.

2: (And More Positive) I did some testing today on the deuce with several different impedance adapters to find the point of diminishing returns.

(I know the 2nd photo isn’t lined up at 8K, but we’re here to see the effect on Bass.)

So if you ordered the adjustable impedance adapter to go along with your Deuce, Diminishing Returns start to set in around 25-30 Ω. It still gets bassier beyond that point, just less so. Have fun!

Interesting. I have just checked the other day and they have some good deals including FF GM :))…don’t have the budget right now, but I will check in the future.
But then there are import taxes which would ruin the deal:))

Yeah, as discussed above, the issue is probably legit, but I feel like the scale or frequency of it is what they’re being slimy about, grabbing on this straw to justify their poor handling. And for sure should be trackable like you say, imo. At least up to some point.
We’ll see I guess. All we can do is wait lol, again. With each passing day that eventual statement they’ll have to put out is getting more and more impossible lol.

Yooo @hawaiibadboy, epic shout out to smaller reviewers! That’s amazing
Happy to see @AudioAmigoReviews there and even at the end of your recent vid. So nice  Thing that YouTubers used to do, but barely any more sadly.

And Omar, you have quite a backlog of things to review it seems lmao, best of luck
