Seems like Fatfreq is getting more negative publicity over on Head-Fi:
Thread ‘FatFreq scammers’
I’m kinda apathetic at this point already. Tired.
But I urge any reviewer who may read this thread to talk about their customer service seriously, instead of just letting it fly “oh ima focus on IEM, great set, just don’t buy direct, ok bye”.
What they’re doing has to violate some laws at this point I’d imagine. It’s wild.
1.5 years… Still not receiving what you ordered and paid for as a business. Holy smokes.
Thank you, I’ll make a post there too.
Another small update for me. My Punch spent four days in customs and was out for delivery yesterday with DHL. I live at the very edge of their hub’s service area, so generally I get these deliveries late. About 10:45pm last night, it was still out for delivery. I pull up the GPS map that shows where they are, and they’re about an hour from my house. Hmm, okay. Shortly after 11pm they turn around and start heading back to their hub. Understandable. No one wants to be knocking on doors asking for a signature at midnight.
Wake up this morning to find they marked it as wrong address and made a note that I’d moved. Now, they want me to provide them with a different address (I can’t) or come pick it up at their hub about three hours away (I won’t), so I’m not sure what’s going on there. I may try to get on the phone with them later today and see if I can get this straightened out to get it next week, or I may just let it go back. At this point, I’m starting to take it as a sign that I didn’t actually need any new IEMs after all. lol
Still crickets on the Deuce, but it’s moving. It landed in the US, at least.
Ufff this is unbelievable. If Fatfreq doesn’t respond to it soon, I’ll definitely share the news so people are aware.
Whoa…what??
Is this legit?
Oh no…
Please. I’ll have a vid up by Monday and ask to halt deuce and take off website if it’s real
I don’t have any direct contact with Fatfreq anymore sadly, but I did tag Jude in my post there. Let’s see if that rustles some feathers.
I’ve shared on some Discord servers also, this is legitimately worse than I thought the situation was.
Links been removed…It’s all about the Head-Fi hustle…Jude be like…
Sigh… It did get the job done in that Fatfreq is aware of it and is apparently talking more with the store, but yeah wtf Head-fi
Absolute madness.
I’ve contacted that bears kz store informing them that the thread got nuked. Asked them to post again or get in here with us.
The main FF thread hasn’t touched it.
I expected this. I shoulda screen shotted it if anyone has it post it.
Thanks, ask them/invite them here. Ohmboy is a legit MOD
Sadly this is all I got before I realized I should have taken the whole thread, too late now. It’s one of multiple invoices that was in the thread in addition to emails etc.
Thank you. I’m expecting that guy to show up in here.
I appreciate you.
https://bears.kz/, for anyone wondering. Looks like a legit dealer for several major international audio brands too.
Don’t know about Q15, but in general:
Qudelix 5k is so easy to recommend. It’s small, software is really good. It’s got buttons to play/pause and control track. And it has enough power from the balanced 2.5mm for 95% of iems 240mw). Downside is that it’s 2.5, but that’s no problem if you have a modular cable. And the single ended 3.5mm out is pretty weak at 65mw.
The G5 is 1000mw, so it’ll drive anything. Low output impedance, good for current hungry iems. Almost like a good desktop amp. I like that it has an analog input so you can use it as a pure amp. Bluetooth range sucks though, and no buttons for control.
They complement each other well, actually. I’m pretty happy with just using those two sources.
Damn, nothing on wayback machine.
oh well, time for FATfreq to join the shame list…(let me know if I missed something else they did.)
Wait, what is that about?
Abyss: Re-selling cheap cables for dozens of times more.
BGVP: Lied about the DN2 having a Beryllium DD when it was a PET driver.
Campfire Audio: Terrible QC with the Solaris and when people reacted negatively to that on Head-fi, their rep started locking threads. (Also used Bellsing drivers in it.)
DCS Audio: Threatened a 7-figure lawsuit towards GoldenSound for a negative review of one of their DACs.
DQSM: Made an account on Head-fi and wrote positive reviews and defended their products from negative ones.
Empire Ears: Jack Vang (V.P.) pocketed the demo unit money from Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews. Deleted posts about missing BA from customer.
FATFreq : Extremely long waiting time for the Deuce, ghosting paid customers but answers quickly to new ones. Customers that should have been eligible for pre-order bonus, did not get anything. 2pin design faulty and they only revised it after many broken units, leaving old buyers with design faulty units.
Hidizs: Stealth revised MP145
Hisenior: Stealth revised Mega5EST
Ksearphone: Bad QC, horrible CS, refusal to replace faulty products, “bait and switched” Bell-LBS for Bell-LBBs.
KZ: unsoldering the BAs doesn’t affect the sound, DQ6 having DDs that are glued shut, claiming their MST driver is an electrostatic driver, MST driver that is not audible, Tyvan Lam (CEO) trying to bribe HBB into destroying another company’s driver claims. CRA stealth revision. TRYING TO PAY REVIEWERS FOR REVIEWS (1000 usd offered to DMS).
KBEAR/CCZ: Re-releasing the same iem over and over and managing to placebo “reviewers”. Claimed the BElieve used a pure Beryllium driver, it is only coated. Plume using Bellsing not their own drivers. (Discontinued after DeltaFyre dissected it.)
IMR: CEO ran a scam called Trinity on kickstarter where customers never received their products and the money was used to fund/develope IMR.
Moondrop: Urged their fans in China to “attack” Dunu.
Penon: What do they not do wrong?
Seeaudio: Bravery limited edition being re-released in different color
Senfer: 150ohm earbud was claimed to use Beryllium driver, it does not.
Shozy: P20 driver lie (Planar, not 14.5mm DD)
Shuoer: Tape driver lie (MST, not Electrostatic). Changed the tuning of the EJ07M KL from the originally marketed tuning by HBB.
SIVGA: Censoring bad reviews
Soundcore: TRYING TO PAY REVIEWERS FOR REVIEWS (DMS).
Tanchjim: Stealth changed the Oxygen driver
TRN: multi-core cables not having all wires soldered, EMX driver lie
Urbanfun: As the YBF-ISS014 hype went up, the price did as well, lied about the price increase being needed to fix bad QC and it was RNG on whether you got the Beryllium coated DD or the “noble metal” version.
YinYoo: Stealth changing tuning/driver, bad qc, review tinkering. (banned on Head-fi)
Yoo what a list lol. What’s up with Penon, could you please share briefly?
A store in Kazakhstan ordered a bunch of products from FatFreq for tens of thousands of dollars, fully paid in May 2023. The first batch of ordered items got to them 3-4 months later than scheduled, while the rest of the products are still not delivered, an insane 1.5 years later. And FatFreq keeps ghosting them and occasionally giving them ridiculous excuses this entire time, like ‘we’re at headphone show’, ‘we’re working to get it to you soon’ etc.
And he attached a bunch of screenshots of emails, invoices and so on.
Some d*ckriders in comments asked how can author be sure it’s commonplace with FatFreq, to which he responded with quite a reasonable “well idk, but do you really think they’d just discriminate our store for some reason and provide flawless service to everyone else?”
Something along those lines.
Yeah, immediately tried wayback machine too, alas…
But I’ve contacted that store through their chat as I mentioned, informing them about the nuke and urging them to post again or come to our thread here. We share a native language so hopefully should be a productive conversation. It’s outside of their business hours, I’ll keep you updated when and if they get back to me.
Edit: added that the items were fully paid for when they ordered
Not allowing bad reviews, they got their own very obvious shills, they price their products VERY high only because they have special coupons they send to their members so they can buy them at a much lower price. etc…not a company you should support.
thanks, would appreciate it.
