How is the bass?
Like a less syrupy RN6. I just was exchanging DM with some folks and said they should do a flagship with a bass and forward early mids just like this. Really nice stuff with my library
One of these sets cost 10 times more than the other.
I bought, sold, re-bought and will never resell the expensive one again.
Itâs me enjoying the hobby.
I rearanged the style of rankings on my Google sheet because of this phenomena (i.e. bias)
This set (Top Pro) is a great example or a chance for you to ask questions and listen carefully to the answer.
An educational moment in a subjective parasocial flooded hobby.
I spend big money because I can.
Graphs canât tell you much so please ask and be an educated consumer and not get hosed or soaked and squeezed like a sponge
Iâm also glad I modified my ranking list style before this set arrived
Iâve bought this not really known set more than a year ago and it became my universal, always-go-to IEM quickly. Bass, vocals, highs. Everything seems to be in place for my ears. And the staging sounds perfect too for my taste.
If you have the opportunity, try it out. It has 3 Knowles BAs (2 highs, 1 mid) and a DD. Which maybe a little outdated for 500, but it feels enough. Again, at least for me.
The two biggest things Iâd want to know about are the differences in bass quality and treble extension.
Whatâs the big difference between the proprietary BA bass of Storm versus the DD bass on Top Pro, and can Top Pro really approximate the treble of Storm?
Good to see that heat and humidity didnât manage to end the streak.
I think itâs a better tuned set (PRO). I think anyone who didnât know the prices couldnât pick one citing Sound Quality and any part of any music passages as their argument.
I love my Storm but itâs simply an expensive well tuned set. Some sets put âdiminishing returns â on front street. This is one of those sets
Itâs getting brutal but some Carbs in my life really help
Killing it.
Between work and going camping with the family in a few hours time I havenât got to shit to show this week. Failure is not an option. Iâll be back on it solid from Tuesday
What a crazy hobby this isâŚwhy do price points have any sway when it comes to your personal musical tuning preferences?..
Fixed this for you
I havenât been around in a few months, but itâs dope to see this streak you have going.
Iâve been staying on top of my fitness goals these last 2 months, too. Iâm down about 30 pounds since the beginning of April/end of March with 14 pounds left to melt off before I hit my goal weight.
Like @Go-Kart said, failure is not an option.
Whatâs gots it in its earses precious?
Impressive!
Gatekeeping and parasocial relationships with companies is big in headphone world. Hifiman has been making garbage built stuff for 15 years and Audeze has needed EQ for about that long but reviewers are invested in pushing stuff that needs âinsert powerplant meme hereâ to get the most outta stuff and if you donât, thatâs what your missing.
IEM world has less gatekeeping and Iâd like to say
âWaitâŚwhat exactly is inside those IEM?â
âCables DO NOT tighten bass or clean up the midsâ
âYou absolutely DO NOT need to spend 2,3,4,5,000 dollars to have TOTL audio replayâ
I think folks who argue with vague terms and non specific non music track based citations should sit down and stfu. You are selling abstract art or Rolexâs. We are talking about music.
Sit down younginâ this is not Post Covid spam fest anymore.
This is recovery.
If old folks wonder what this term relates to itâs below.
Long time no chat bro. I hope the family is well.
Yeah the streak grows and when I break it and have to start from zeroâŚthatâs going to suuuuuck
Thatâs why we are all here on HFGFâs is it not
It is,
Love this place
