lol in the times we’re in, that ain’t peanuts so for $2k they better be more than just a music listening device. They should be an experience every time you hit play.
Selling luxury cars is a lot like luxury IEMs honestly. Every time you get into Audi, you should never feel like you could have just settled and gone with the Honda down the street for half the price. It’s gotta be an experience. That’s the only reason why I can justify the Valhalla, it’s just that, an experience.
That’s the rare part imo lots of sets out there are expensive just to be expensive. CanJam is an excellent way of recalibrating your expectations and completely getting rid of FOMO.
But then, sometimes, it’s the worst endorsement of it… the damn Valhalla
I ain’t heard Valhalla yet but that’s what I got from, and why I’m enamoured with, Cadenza 12; an experience.
Saying that, when I got my first nice car, I really appreciated the experience of driving it …but because I’m not a petrol head, I did start regretting the purchase after a few months
No no, CanJam is such a great time, you’re gonna have a blast. Meet all the cool folks over there and if Felix from Symphonium is there, tell him I said hi and big time congrats on the engagement
The C12 is dope, I agree with you on that, it’s cool to see they hit something for you. What do you think it was? Whether it was 1 specific aspect of the sound of the sum of all its parts. I like diving deep into an IEM sometimes, it’s fascinating to me.
Oh yeah? Not everyone is a petrol head, I get that but god damn do I love a good driving experience. What was your first car?
@Ohmboy LOL true the true… just trying to make it a little more relatable
Funnily enough, I’ve been at Audi for the last 2 years and I recently got another opportunity to work with Lamborghini, Bentley and Rolls-Royce so I should be starting back there in the next few weeks!
Can definitely relate to that. I’ve been to London once and it’s not the best place for someone with a respiratory condition (and it can get extremely busy as well). They should do a Vienna CanJam, much more relaxed place to go (and now that High End is also going there)
Cadenza 12 has such sharp sonic images. It stages them so well - great depth. Everything sounds so natural and “correct”. A near faultless experience.
My first car? A big old Mazda 626. I loved that thing. I even lived in it for a few months when I got kicked out of halls at university. Bloody comfortable seats.
I had plans to go, but they’ve been completely upended now that our CEO decided to leave. The thought of even loosening my grip on the company’s finances and administration for less than a second is actually giving me anxiety.
Things will need to calm down alot before I’m willing to take a day off. (which will be october at best).
And it gets better with every upgrade in the chain, it’s nuts.
Owning It for half a year now and I have never heard it as good as now after purchasing Topping A50III to amp it.
BTR15 as DAC in that scenario.
I thought Topping G5 would do the trick, and it certainly does sound fantastic but A50III is a clear step up with C12
Bass hits Harder and deeper and the overall Sound is more engaging and there is an increase in Stage depth.
It is as If C12 was only playing at 90% before
But there’s a new kid on the block i am eagerly waiting for, which is Letshuoer EJ10, or as we call it within Audiogeeks Europe: Lady Shuoer
I had the chance to demo her at High End Munich (Prototype) where she instantly put a spell on me.
We are talking about 2DD 4BA 4EST and let me Tell you the ESTs are no joke…Lady S is the Queen of Maracas 🪇
It is as If you are sitting inside of them and can count every single grain.
C12 while very good can not compete in this category🥲
After High End i was able to demo Lady S for a week at home and this is exactly where i became weak as i am planning to pull the Trigger as soon as available
Compared to C12 there is quite a bit more subbass rumble, midbass has the best Texture and snappyness i have heard so far, it sounds super clean but not anemic. The overall presentation is more technical and energetic compared to C12 which is smoother and therefore a bit more musical.
The midrange is crystal clear and very much like Mystic8 so you can expect TOTL vocal performance.
I also had Omnium with me this week which I liked, but not nearly as much as Lady S.
Omnium’s midbass was too carved out for my taste.
Unfortunately i can only show you a pic of the Prototype and a custom EJ10 that was done recently. Shape will be the same
EJ10 will have matte black titanium shells with stabilized wood faceplates and should hit the market soon…this is going to be a banger!
