Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

Huh, this is the first time to my knowledge that I see the internal wire composition being used as a selling point. I wonder if that was Eletech or Canpur’s idea.

I would assume Eletech’s seeing that they’re in the business of selling cables. Having read the whole pitch I was expecting a 4000+ price tag (due to a hefty markup for the cable alone) but that’s actually quite ‘reasonable’ a price for a limited edition (reasonable referring to Summit Fi prices of course).

Yea At $2K, it’s not about specs anymore …it’s about emotion, presence, and that sense of occasion every time you press play. And yeah, CanJams are the great equalizer… you realize not everything expensive is special. But when something is special, that’s when the price starts making sense.

You know whats worse? Being a petrol head and not being able to afford a really nice car :sob: :sob:

Yeah, totally agree! I only have a Mazda 2 DE, but I would import a Eunos Cosmo 20B if I could afford it.

Edit: Actually, I could afford it, but my dearest would not approve it

Unironically, every expensive set I’m interested in is a pre order forever.
Nothing I can click buy on is of any interest.
Summit Fi is really not much different from Kickstarter.
Money first, limited run, wait long time.

Bingo - the first year I went it was all about the gear, but every year since has been about the overall experience with the folks there, though.

In my time I’ve learned that if you’ve heard 1 IEM, you’ve basically heard them all. Thr $200-$300 Ziigaats and Kiwi sets of the world are damn close to the Kilobuck sets of yesteryear. It’s more about the unique ones now a days like the Legion or the stuff from Nighjar, like the Duality, that really justify pricing to me.

Although, I still haven’t heard an IEM quite like my Monarch 2s… I know the day will come. I’m just waiting

It’s definitely becoming more and more prevalent in general, spanning everything from razors (Gilette) to cars (Porsche).

That pinna gain is a perfect kicker for a backflip into the treble region

I’m in one of the hotels I stayed on last week. Unfortunately, they have since put a lock on the gym door… They must have spotted me sneaking in early last week on the cameras

No training for me today…

That is unfortunate for sure. Would have expected them to say something about it if they really did catch you sneaking in.

Starting the chat phase and opening new doors daily. Amazing how fast kids learn. This all goes so fast :dash: I’d slow it down if I could :smiling_face_with_tear:

Also the “terrible twos” is not a legend….it’s very much real

. I guess those phases is important for development too

Monarch MKIV looks good. Real good. First one with a bass boost switch.
Not sure if they posted yet so just blur until they do.
It’s clearly got that Monarch DNA though

Tune like you mean it…my thoughts on dip switches…

Options are consumer wins.
That Letshuoer and it’s 12dB ear gain will not be some folks cup of tea.
Perhaps a switch to cut that mountain down would attract more?

I do tend to “set it and forget it” after finding my favorite tuning but options…I like that stuff

Ham radio operators use it for ‘Hugs and Kisses’ iirc.

Unfortunately it also has a controversial meaning in extremist groups (which letter has the 8th position in the alphabet? Those 2 letters form a certain misguided acronym). I’m saying this so you won’t be blindsided by some dingleberrymuncher that might try to use it against you.
