Thanks for the background info! For what it’s worth, IMO this was one to win.
The first thing that crossed my mind was ‘man that guy got held back in school a lot’ Joking aside, is he a wrestler or one of those underworld guys?
Yeah…you spotted him
He’s both. So is the guy standing next to him.
My closest friends in Japan are of that life.
They say yes and no easily and my antics only rubbed them wrong once so it’s all good
9:30PM
My other one died so I test this tomorrow.
58c is highest I have recorded where I train.
I almost lost consciousness today. I trained lightly and my heart was racing so i really dialed it back to almost slow motion and was under the hose a lot
Heart rate usually increases
Today we went the other way. It’s scary hot out there
Hi Chris, I’d like to thank you for yr Unique Melody Mest Mk2 review. I got them (for 899$!) and I really found what you said about these wonderful IEMs. Clarity, instrument separation, soundstage, imagine, air. It’s really another level of listening to music! Paolo
Appreciate the clarification!
That is indeed frightening, especially the fact that the min temp is so high.
Watched your latest video while My 2 week old daughters is on my lap and the daddy finger song is now
Stuck in my head
Glad you like em. Thanks for the trust
Yeah, man the pavement/asphalt holds that heat much longer than the big fat steel storm drain. I’t like being on a super heated floor just wicking heat up the legs.
People walk their pets on this stuff like idiots.
That was a minute before vid decision as that song was rolling through my head.
Hope your daughter is doing well
I’ve always loved the simplicity of the setting in this movie.
I’ve actually been in a similar setting. My ear wasn’t sliced, but I had a screwdriver hammered through my hand. Fuck the cartels.
Mexico?
Man that place is wild
That is absolutely wild. Given what you said about your line of work, I am assuming it happened during a business trip (as in: needing to travel abroad for business purposes, not in the sense of anything shady going on obviously, just to avoid misunderstandings).
No, Colombian.
For EU traffic it’s more along the lines of Colombian cartels ship to EU, Mocro gangs take care of logistics overseen by the 'Ndrangheta.
I got that little run in and now scar on my hand indirectly thanks to my niece.
It’s a pretty wild story, so I’ll try to summarize.
- My niece converted to Islam about 10 years ago and married her Morrocan husband.
- Turns out the husband was a known extremist.
- My niece got indoctrinated during the height of IS.
- They tried to run off to Syria but got busted before they could leave.
- Reason for the bust was a dispute with their neighbour that resulted in my niece’s husband kicking their neighbour in the stomach. That neighbour was pregnant. This story is in the newspapers.
- Police searched the house. They found evidence of recruiting children from mosques into IS. Plans to assisinate a prominent polititian. Advances plans to bomb one of biggest trainstations in the country (was supposed to happen right before they left for Syria). And numerous other offenses that fall under the terrorism category.
- While this was happening I got picked up by some dudes who wanted me to ‘facilitate’ pick-ups because our barges have almost unrestricted acces to most terminals in the ARA zone. They claimed to work with Ridouan Taghi. @publicpersonae25 I think you’re Dutch right? So maybe you’ll recognise that name? I don’t know if this was true or not. They could have just namedropped him.
- I refused and got the screwdriver treatment as a thank you and a warning.
- A few years after my niece and her husband were sentenced the police achieved a major breakthrough in cracking an encryption service called SkyECC. Hunderds of arrests happened in the fallout of that.
- Turns out that the family of my niece’s husband operated as moneymules for one of those gangs. They learned about me through my niece.
- Right now my niece has done the full 8 years she was sentenced and is seperated from her husband. Deprogamming continues, but seems to be working. Her ex-husband and his family are still in jail.
I have no issue talking about this, but I also don’t want to boast about this because we have guys on our barges that are actual Syrian refugees and have been through hell and back compared to my problems. Same with our IT manager. He’s Bosnian and went through some really grim shit in the 90’s.
Yes, that name definitely rings a bell. For those who aren’t Dutch (or Belgian): that guy is the head of arguably the most brutal criminal operation in the Netherlands and his prosecution basically drove (drives, still ongoing) the Dutch legal system to its breaking point in that it is de facto unable to deal with this type of criminal.
It seems your hand healed up nicely, especially given what happened (glad to see that). And I was not expecting this (and appreciate you sharing this). That is definitely beyond wild, especially since I remember it being in the news here as well.
Yeah, it looks ok, but I don’t really have any strength left in that hand. Some of the tendons got sliced, but no major arties were damaged thankfully.
It was a flathead screwdriver btw.
Damn, I’m truly sorry to hear that. I find the way in which you are able to talk about it admirable (something like that must have been quite traumatic).
I guess it was. I’ve had time to process it, and I’m more the ‘suck it up and keep marching’ type of person. I gain nothing from playing the ‘woe is me’ role. Especially because I have people around me that have gone through so much worse. I’m willing to bet that there are people in the thread here that have had worse experiences.
On a different note, literally. I’ve landed on the Final type E as my preferred tip for the DX1. Because it’s so good with vocals and especially ballads or solo performances, I actually prefer a more intimate sound.
The DX1 solidified to me just how sensitive I am to driver flex. I enjoyed the sound but moving around much at all I’d get the dreaded crinkle and it was rather severe upon insertion
None does seem unexpected.
I was also surprised at how young your viewers are. The gang here seems to skew a bit older.
