Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

I am cancelling the order.
Musicteck is offering to cover the $125 recovery of parcel charge.

I appreciate the gesture.

DHL automated system is legendary garbage

This could probably have been a Monty Python skit back in the day. Now, it unfortunately is reality. This is beyond idiotic. There’s a tracking # so they know where it went on who got their hands on it last. They probably don’t care enough to make an issue out of it.

Friend of mine ordered a new phone last year from one of the major carriers over here but the package disappeared in transit. He got a new one without them batting an eyelash; they even told him this type of thing is insured. Put differently: the occasional theft of someone’s package is a calculated risk and apparently cheaper to deal with than to weed out the rotten apples. Which is absolutely bizarre 'cause they know which driver had to deliver it.

I’ve had issues with one of those automated systems as well a while ago btw. After selecting the right option the call got DISCONNECTED. I am starting to believe it’s not a bug but a feature…

I can’t enter the tracking while the guy is talking…that was solved like 20 years ago. ( I actually don’t recall ever having to wait but God damn man…2025.)

Also finding a Cayin N8ii is impossible in Japan.
There are dozens of A&K SP3000 variants and everything else but Cayin N8ii? Japanese love Cayin.
I do too

Only one I can find

In 2025, the customer is no longer the focus of business but merely an afterthought it seems :no_mouth: It’s the same over here; there are brands I want to spend my :dollar: on but it’s impossible to find them. In your case, it’s really bizarre because Japan still has one of the biggest economies in the world and a sizeable population. When it comes to my neck of the woods, ChiFi companies seem to be completely oblivious to our existence for the most part

I think the Sonion EST are dualie only maybe? 2 or 4. Are there any 1,3 or 5 est sets?

I could swear that someone marketed or at least prototyped a config with only 1 EST (electret) driver along with BAs and/or DDs but for the life of me I can’t remember who it was or what model. I also don’t remember if it was Sonion so it may have been a Magnetostatic driver under a generic description.

There are single, dual and quad versions. Most common being 2 and 4 nowadays.

For some damn reason Sonion doesnt show their quad version on their own site anymore…and they also doesnt seem to have datasheets listed…

Surprised how hard these hit.
Graph does not indicate it at all.

This is what’s so awesome about this thread. One can go from woodcraft to the planets to Scottish eggs, QA/QC, the pitfalls of bureaucracy and IEMs/music/gear whilst making complete sense :fire:

They’re called Scotch eggs…not Scottish

And for the genuine experience they should be followed by a can of Irn-Bru

Not nearly as grating but still a DHL story: I was waiting for a package to be delivered to a pick-up point. I tend to choose those because you can never count on them actually delivering packages on the projected day/date. All of a sudden, I get a notification through their app saying that they ‘unfortunately’ had to deliver it to a drop-off/pick-up locker instead. WTF? Checked with the pick-up point and turns out they were open and hadn’t seen any delivery guy from DHL. What’s worse, the locker is on the other side of town whilst, at the same time, there being two(!) lockers within spitting distance of the pick-up point I chose. Only conclusion is the driver didn’t want to drive all the way to that one and picked a random locker instead… Filed a complaint just because it might make a difference in the long run but yeah, eff DHL.
