Paypal isn’t the same company it was before the pandemic, so I wouldn’t put that much trust in them.
Man, part of me wishes I’d gone with 4.4 but the vast majority of my listening is done on my JDS Element 3 with 1/4". But, simply aesthetically, the 4.4 adapter looks freaking fire.
whoa no way, you saved me 400 bucks for not having to buy Scarlet Mini lmao
thanks man lol
alright im gonna go check it out and see if I can get my tracking number
man maybe I’m too patient of a person but I’m not too worried. I only do hope it reaches my fuckin hands though
It is difficult to convey how fucking relieved I am.
This set absolutely slams.
aaaa ha ha ha!!
Fatfreq motherfuckers.
I think I can get this to skid across my desk.
I need to drop 500Hz and up and turn up but even that is not enough assist to help most all sets in the hobby… Think this can do it.
Freaking Can’t wait for mine to come in. I told a bunch of people to try it out and I know one person from the water-cooler group tried it out and was super hyped on it.
Are they concerned about undercutting their Crimson sales? This set’s cheaper than both of their previous top sellers. Maybe a quantity winning over margin type thing, as the demand and volume are there?
I think that’s what they were counting on, essentially ‘redefining the bracket for bass’ through word of mouth first, and then by sales before they even shipped after. The positive buzz from CanJam Socal is enough to ensure the former, at least to a degree.
I ordered the adjustable impedance adapter they made for these as an add-on. Pretty excited to see what that’s capable of now.
Dying to get my hands on the Deuce, but now I have the added anticipation of trying the impedance adapter on all of my IEMs and headphones. I foresee hours of unalloyed entertainment in the near future. Every credit to you and FatFreq.
You can save some time by skipping all your single DDs. They tend to have a flat impedance curve so that adapter wont do anything to the FR.
Mr. HBB…the thing is I didn’t pay up front…and if I warned people not to get their hopes up of a quick turnaround it would have helped some but displeased more…
invested the money I would have paid for the Deuce back in August and mercifully the market provided me with a free one…almost
I have the utmost empathy for those waiting for their monitors because I distinctly remember the feeling
Hey Riku. What would cause the FR to change with the adapter? I know the CKLVX D41 has a single DD, but according to hobby talk squig it changes the FR. I am curious as well just based on the fact that I never used an adapter before.
I did this with the SL41,after watching his video about a month or two ago. When I did it with that set…
It did increase the bass but sucked out the mids and vocals and did not sound good at all!
That was my only experience with trying an adapter with any set. Haven’t done it since.
It is always worth a try though,do some listening for yourself and enjoy🤙
In this instance I had no intention of refunding, I was leveraging a possibility to get a response, seems to have worked.
Paypal…does have some support personal that would be better suited not dealing with customers, yet ultimately, they have had my back when presented with facts in a calm, reasonable manner
Hopefully I won’t need to test your warning in the future.
Explanation here:
My requests:
- Most Affordable Maestro
- DD’s only
- Buy a MD Variations for cross measuring reference.
- Exchange physical samples/ not graph ride. (we did 7x from Sing to Japan and back)
- Let public cash buyers drive narrative. Best indication anyway , of long market life span
Fatfreq main additions
- Design (Chefs Kiss)
- Bass Cannon V2 ( Why it worked & it’s quite clever))
- Having Bassist/Drummer feedback, nothing changed but it was a nice perk
Mistakes:
25dB advert was not only incorrect it was completely un needed.
This was never supposed to be a Scarlet mini with my logo
It caught fire at Can Jam London with no IO
My DM w/FF contain zero mention of a need for bass. The IO was likely an idea they got from Crinacle.
Ask em buddy. It was a Moondrop Vari w/ harder bass hit via unique bass system. A Scarlet mini for 239 with the IO is a clever move I guess but not my idea. And not why they sold a shit load at Can Jam London. Not why they sold 6000 and climbing. That graph w/IO didn’t exist till 5500 was already reached.
The estimation of 5-6k units moving at once was greatly underestimated by Fatfreq.
They need bigger staff for this next level and I’m sure that is in plans.
A bigger facility is already obtained
Meanwhile, the Chopin arrived today. You weren’t wrong about these, Boss. This a really nice set. A very pleasant surprise, indeed.
And now, back to Deuce Mania! I reckon I may be picking up a set at some point, but will wait a bit and let things stabilize.
Best Timmy collab for my library. The tuning should be closer to his next collab than Davinci I hope anyway
