I don’t have any clips to add. What I do have to say is that I was listening to CSN greatest hits CD the other day, & when I cranked it up I heard my woofers bottom out & I immediately turned the volume down. Strange, because I have had Michael Jackson, ACDC, Creed, Rolling Stones, Fuel, STP, Journey, Cars, & many other CDs playing cranked up with no such issues, like the woofers bottoming out.
I can only conclude that there must be far more compression of the bass frequencies on those other recordings than was used on that CSN CD, or the bass on the CSN CD is very very respectable, if not shockingly more powerful than you would expect to hear. I would add, the lower midrange is also a contributing factor, I imagine.
