I only care about gaming (semi-competitive, mostly playing online shooters), and for my very little research it seems that sound imaging+staging matter the most in this case
So far the superlux HD668B and CREATIVE AURVANA LIVE seem pretty decent, but i am sure there is few more out there but these are the headphones with good detailed reviews and i cant find a detailed reviews (at least in gaming) for other budget headphones
So guys what you recommend between these two (precise directions/footsteps), are they the gaming budget kings? and what’s about other budget gaming headphones ?
I personally think the ad700x is an excellent competitive gaming can if you can find one, it has great imaging, a brighter signature, and an open sound that lead to it being a competitive gaming champ imo
We reviewed the ATH-AD700X
Cost $91 on Amazon at the time we reviewed them
Yeah, it just seems as though they are no longer available for that price unfortunately
There’s a used - like new from Amazon Warehouse for $86… and if you order directly from Amazon… it’s still $91. Just have to wait till Jan 25th.
thank you guys, but the Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X cost 200$ in my area which is way above my budget…
Man that stinks. It is a really nice gaming headphone.
Have you checked eBay? They sometimes have pairs that cost less.
What about the cooler master mh751? Is that available to you?
they are about 85$ not a problem, but how i can compare it to the superlux? so far the sound staging and imaging beat even many expensive headset from my understanding
Personally wouldn’t even consider the superlux that thing doesn’t sound good meto me treble sucks on that thing
So personally I don’t rate the superlux that highly as I think they have a pretty unrefined sound that can be confusing at times imo. The soundstage and imaging is decent but nothing really stands out to me tbh. The mh751 is a warmer but still balanced sound with pretty good soundstage and imaging for a closed back, also has great comfort and the mic is a plus too.
ok and what’s about the CREATIVE AURVANA LIVE ?
The CAL is very good for music, but for competitive gaming they might a bit bassy and mask some sounds. Imaging is good and soundstage is pretty decent, but they are more of a music can
ok i got it now.
then from my understanding the 668b is good in imaging/staging but sound shit? like overall sound quality and feeling in games is bad in the 668b?
also someone just recommended to me the corsair Void PRO RGB…are they any good?
Sounds tinny and just not pleasant overall. Corsair void pro sounds better but not as good as other offrings. Like a shp 9500, or hd 559, or mh 751
It’s average in imaging and staging, I think the ksc75 has better staging and potentially imaging as well (actually you could look into that too)
so after all the great feedback and recommendations from you guys and in other forums, i have stumbled between these headsets:
Sennheiser GSP 300
Corsair VOID RGB PRO
mh 751
Sennheiser HD559
and the 2 already mentioned in my post
all are below 100$ which is geat, and if you guys can make a very small comparison between them would be great (only regarding gaming as i rarely listen to music), both in sound directioning and general quality and “enjoyment” of the headset
**shp 9500 not available in my country
I’d also recommend the koss kph30i. Can’t go wrong for the price.
I would get rid of the void pro only thing it does really well is rgb
The gsp300 is pretty good imo, fairly solid set. Pretty nice imagining, decent stage for a closed back, and pretty comfortable
