This may help as well.
I got the CALs they sound nice, the sound is more full compared to mh751 but I donāt find them bass heavy like some people say maybe cuz Iām using fiio k3 idk.
My ears fit inside they are a bit hard but also light so they are comfortable enough.
Thx for the advice 45$ well spent.
The CALs may be a good choice. I didnāt particularly like them, but they may fit what you are looking for. Brainwavz oval pads will fit over the cups and the pleather ones did not alter the sound much. I also think the Meze 99 could be a good choice.
replacing the pads can help with this issue. They arenāt extremely bassy headphones though they just have a present bass due to their somewhat V signature like I said previously. You should be able to equalize the bass a little higher to your liking. Glad you like them.
I actually have no issues with comfort they are so light that I literally can forget about them, I might be lucky to have ears that fit in.
I tried to use bass boost on the k3 but I think im good without it, I feel like at that point thereās like a veil that changes the entire sound, so Iām like in a not enough no now itās to much place.
Bahhhh my 6 month old pair of these have mysteriously come down with one dead ear. Filed out an RMA, but I am less than impressed.
thatās a total bummer Beyerdynamic does have 2 year warranty though
Yeah to be fair filing the RMA was easy enough. Hopefully it wonāt cost me too much to ship them back to Beyerdynamic. Still, annoying.
Ironically the 80Ohm DT770ās I also have are still good, so I can use those in the meantime.
Though now I fancy something different.
a defective headphone is as good of an excuse as any to broaden your horizons lol
He should try to catch one of those Elegia sales! Lol
I came from the DT770 250ohm and I thought I would keep them both. After I listened to the Elegia I never went back, so the Beyers went out the door. They are still great headphones though.
The V shape seems WAY too muchā¦ i saw a frequency graph and the spike in the treble feels like WAY too much seeing as the trusted senheissers are more similar to my M50s than these
The treble is sharp, but a pad swap or some foam/felt/TP can fix that. If you can get these for less than $150 then I think they are worth it (If youāre looking for a strong V shape).
+1. I really like mine with the angled lambskin pads (it came with it when I bought mine used).
i think i might just have to pick up another headphone that can be closer to my M50s or sennheiser 58X/6XX that can be lessā¦ sharp
So I reached out to Amazon about it, and they offered me a replacement or refund. Given my 80ohm ones have lasted so long, I thought Iād give the 250ās another go. Third time will be a refund though, but, I have the new 250ās on my head now, working fine.
i think i will probably have to buy one of these for closed back production because my bro is thinking on working on some games and he thinks i might be a good idea to do the OSTs for themā¦ these are pretty popular for studio monitoring so hopefully it will work well even with the kinda nervous peak in the treble
I have both the 80 ohm and the 250 ohm. if you are interested in these I was going to post the 250 ohm on AVX. They are used for a couple of mins basically new modded with dual 3.5mm entries and it comes with a new Hart Audio cable with a 6.35mm connector all for $170 I will be posting these up for sale tomorrow.
i dunno about a balanced modded version
