I think a lot of it is if you like the beyerdynamic sound youâve already got a pair since you can get them so inexpensively.
Itâs just funny how some headphone revisions are big deals, but this one (limited edition or no, the headphone itâs revising is considered a classic) is greeted by the sound of crickets.
fwiw I noticed several YT videos that say 5 days ago.
Yeah, there were some. The website reviews seem to be limited to non-audio related sites, strangely.
My 770 Pro X arrived today. I never had the DT 770 Pro, only the DT 990 Pro, and while Iâm told that this is tuned very similarly, I donât remember the driver on the 990 sounding this good. This one definitely feels a little more capable to me. Treble can be a little spicy on some tracks, but that shouldnât come as a shock. The rest of the frequency response really feels pretty balanced to me. The bass has some good impact, and itâs nice and clean. It feels boosted sometimes more because Iâm used to more roll off, I think. A lot of songs feel really nicely balanced. I donât know if itâs supposed to be fun, but Iâm finding it fun for a lot of different types of music. If itâs not really different than the original, then I guess I would like that one too.
(Just realized that those reading might think I just mislabeled the 770 Pro. The ones am commenting on are the Limited Edition DT 770 with the Stellar.45 drivers from the 700 and 900 Pro X)
The DT770 Pro 80 are among my favorite headphones ever, and an easy recommendation in the sub-$200 price range. They really tick a lot of boxes: superbly comfortable, isolate very well, reasonably balanced yet fun sound, good soundstage for a closed headphone, and easy to drive, yet get better with higher end amplification. My Woo Audio WA2 really does some wonderful things with these.
For those interested in a detailed review, you can check out this comprehensive recensione beyerdynamic dt 770 pro. It covers all the aspects that make these headphones a great choice.
I ended up selling these on since I have the DT1770s, but Iâll pretty much never stop recommending these to someone looking for proper mid-fi on the cheap.
Ive had a couple of pairs of those already, got them when they recently came out. For music they need some equalizing, but the 15 band EQ in Musicbee can easily handle any changes. For gaming I liked them right out of the box. An upgrade from the MMX300 (of course you lose the mic), and the Tygr 300 R only if you really need the privacy and sound isolation of a closed back. No amplifier needed which is nice, the Apple 3.5mm USB adapter is all youâll ever need, even with a preamp reduction for equalizing.
