đŸ”¶ Beyerdynamic T1 Gen2

So it’s a bit different because with the liquid plat you are going to a higher quality solid state essentially, if you wanted to go the tube route I would look for a bottlehead crack + speedball in that range

eh? didn’t you say it would respond better in my lineup of headphones for the liquid plat?

Yeah, I was just noting that if you wanted to go actual tube amp the bh crack + speedball is the way to go, that was only in regards to the mention of a tube amp and working well with the t1, for your actual setup the liquid plat is still the way to go. I just personally wouldn’t call the liquid plat a tube amp since it’s a hybrid

Are Black and Silver identical except for colour? I can get the Black for 630 USD new.

Had the T1’s R2 and T90’s for years
many amps
the BH Crack with Speedball is an excellent choice for the Beyers.

Yes I believe so

The 789 isn’t as powerful through the single ended output as it is through the balanced output. Grab a Hart Audio balanced cable for the T1 and you’ll be fine. Also, I think the DT880 are less sensitive than the T1.

Starting to become curious on whether I would enjoy the DT 880s more on a higher tier setup. Noticed really quick upon changing the amp a few of my headphones are more enjoyable. Considering the options of either the bottlehead crack or liquid platinum for purchase soon since they also respond well to the T1

should be able to give impressions on the 880 + bh crack soon
it should be shipped to me this week or early next week

What are you using now?

borrowing magni 3+, using liquid spark and topping e30. Sounds good though I will keep an eye on the forum

Hi all, I see I am rather late to the conversation but I am curious if anyone has tried Xduoo ta-20 or ta-30 with the T1. I currently have a smsl su-8 with thx 789 and Cavalli hybrid tube and not blown away by the T1. Thanks.

I want to try other Dac and amps with my t1.2nd. My current setup is the sdac balanced and thx789.
I want to upgrade my dac, and get another amp (Not going to sell my thx789).

Dacs:

  • Schiit modius
  • smsl m300 mkii
  • smsl m200
I have read other forums claiming the Modius have good imagine and spatial recreation, some people say it add more width and height to the soundstage.

Amps:

  • Schiit A3
  • RNHP
The reason I want another amp is how people praise the A3 for spatial recreation. The T1 is already good at this, maybe this combination is magical for the prise. Modius and A3 is a stack that might be a good match for T1.2nd. Also, A lot of user recommend the RNHP over the thx789, the problem is the price. Now that the thx789 is 300$, 500$ seems to much. I like my thx789 over the liquid spark for the T1.2nd, the LS was to warm and closed, the thx789 add openness and treble sparkle ( I know sometimes is to much but personally it does not bother me at all). I am not looking for the perfect match for the T1.2nd ( not yet lol, M0N already recommend me some good tube for that). Just looking for middle level amp to give some flavor, and used it with another headphones I plan to buy.

the asgard 3 is very good in regards to spatial recreation and will be warmer than your thx but not to the extent of the liquid spark
I used the a3 paired with the topping d50s for awhile and for my tastes it added to much sizzle to the high frequencies but might be just what youre looking for

I have no experience with the rnhp or the dacs you listed

The RNHP is very nice, but may struggle a little with powering a 600 ohm T1 to their full potential. Something like a Lake People G111 may be a better option with a bit more power in that tier of amp.

RNHP will struggle a little due to the 600 ohms. Asgard 3 is a really nice pairing and the Modius is said to be good with them as well may be a very strong pair for the T1. I personally use T1.2 balanced to a Liquid Platinum + Bifrost 2. Warm yet open and the tubes will of course add some alterations to the sound. I would say try pairing the asgard 3 to the modius though I think it will make a great setup

Surely as a studio based company RN should provide a gain switch to allow for high and low impedance headphones and iem’s :man_shrugging:

Hey so, does anyone know what the difference is between T1.2 and T1.2 Ninja Black edition if any at all?

Ones a ninja and the other isn’t :joy:

They are supposed to be the same. Some people say the t1.2nd ninja was warmer, but that was when the Latest revision t1.1st serials 25k and up where out. If you manage to grab to compare the silver and the ninja black, let me know! I’m really interested in that comparison.
