Hmmm ok, so question how would you compare using the Bifrost 2 with the Lake people g111 to the Modius/Magnius stack I am using currently?
Also I do own the Darkvoice tube amp, with the hagerman would I notice a bigger difference? (Note, I havenât spent a great deal of time investing in any tube rolling. I only bought one additional set and havenât done much else with it.)
A pretty significant upgrade in most ways, spatial recreation, dynamics, resolution, impact and speed, and a slight upgrade in timbre (but not as big as the other aspects)
Pretty substantially different, there is a sizable difference between higher end tube amps, you might be very surprised and how much of a difference it is from a darkvoice. Regarding the tubes, the stock tubes in the tuba are imo ok but personally I would just replace them with these for an overall upgrade, grab 2 of these and you are good to go
Wow cool ok⊠think you have given me a bit to chew on. I will have to do a bit research and think about which idea I should go with. Once you again, appreciate the help @M0N
Im somehwat glad I have picked up the T1.2 and not the T1.3 for 600 euros more when I read your comments guys.
The T1.2 has easily taken the top spot of all my headphones. I hope I get the chance to hear the T1.3 nonetheless, shouldnât be a problem since Iâm in germany.
For Amp pairing I recommend the Bottlehead Crack over the Darkvoice as an amp for not much money. Sounds quite a lot better, clearer, more resolving etc, but I donât know how it holds up against other options in the pricerange under 1k. @Rick_Jones
I have the Lake People G109s which seems to be the predecessor to the G111 ( I think) and imo it does exactly what @M0N says. Just trust him
Have forgotten that I hear music many times when I was on G109 and actually wanted to do other things soooâŠthat speaks for itself I guess.
Yea I will hold off a bit before I get more into picking up another tube amp. But I did pickup the Lake people G111 as @M0N suggested. Should be here this friday. So we will see how that goes.
Also for anyone else interested in the silver version of the g111 I got this email from them:
Rick, I have just been informed the silver version of the G-111 is out
of stock and silver has been discontinued. We have black available.
Would you like black or would you like to cancel your order?
DUN DUN DUUUUUUN! thanks for posting this ohm, watching now. In b4 ITâS TOO WARM!!
Edit: ya know⊠I am in actually complete agreement with him on this. Granted I wouldnât discount it so much to completely write it off the list especially if it drops in price by a very good margin. He mentioned maybe modding this so that would be interesting⊠I wonder if you could switch the ohms out to a 600 variant how it would perform
You would need to make sure that the driver size and fitting matches, it may be easier to find a Gen 2 for sale unless you prefer the aesthetics of the new one and like DIY.
