MY MAN! The most exciting, talented MotoGP rookie since Marquez!
For sure and Iād add Marco to that list R.I.P, he was only on his second season
Simoncelli was a ray of sunshine who was darkened FAR too soon. I still miss that dude.
The man had no fear. Ultimately that would be his undoing. I was watching when it happened. I was getting up at 3-4AM to watch the races live back then. That was a sad day. I am still convinced that Rossi was never really the same after that.
Have you noticed that everyoneās got their own special connection to their ridesāitās like they become a part of you? For me, itās my trusty bike and the adventures weāve been on. After a close call once, I decided to grab some cyclist insurance just to stay covered. So, now I can just focus on the ride without worrying about what could go wrong.
Well kids, the MotoGP season is fast approaching. Pre-season testing has been interesting. A couple of notable injuries, those being Fabio DiGiantonio and Jorge Martin, who suffered a nasty High-side on his first session aboard the new Aprilia, sustaining multiple fractures of the right hand. He says he will be ready to go for the first race of the season in Bangkok on 2 March. We will see. These guys are tough as nails, so I donāt doubt it, but he is definitely behind the curve.
And then there is the continuing menace of this man, stalking the field like a determined predator.
Marquez is setting the pace onboard his GP24.9 machine, taking top testing honors followed closely by Brother Alex on the Gresini machine. That said, I donāt think the Ducs are going to have it so easy this year, other makes and teams are closing the gap. Should be a hell of a year.
Itās MM93ās world once again this season. Only injury will stop him from winning yet another World Championship.
Marquez is the only true alien on the grid. Bagnaia, Martin and Quartararo are aces, but they donāt measure up to the alien era of Rossi, Stoner and Lorenzo through the mid-2000s and early 2010s.
Iām eager to see Quartararo on the revitalized Yamaha. I think Fabio is the second-best rider on the grid, behind Marquez. He would have smoked Pecco or Martin on a current-spec factory Ducati the last two years ā Iām convinced of that. Quartararo carried that sh*tbox Yamaha to places it didnāt belong the last two seasons.
Another story to watch is KTMās financial problems. The company is on the verge of bankruptcy, something like 1.5 or 2 billion in debt due to overexpansion. KTM insists it wonāt affect the race team, but will we see development of the factory KTM be limited due to budget concerns? And how does Pedro Acosta feel now about re-signing with KTM when he could have signed with just about any other factory team on the grid except for Ducati?
Yours truly. 2012 Street Triple. Fantastic motor!
Favorite machines were Husqvarna TE250 and TE450. They made a 310 that would have been perfect but I missed it by a year.
Many others but those 3 were true highlights for me

Well, here is something I thought I would never write. I sold the Vic today. And I feel so strange about it. To be fair, I was going to donate it anyway, it has been sitting and hasnāt run for over a year. I should have donated it a year ago, but I got stubborn, thinking that someday I would rejuvenate it. But it never happened, and now it is time to get over myself and finally let it go. One of the bikes had to go, and it made the most sense for it to be this one. Itās too much bike for me now. A hard truth, but truth none the less. Itās just difficult, a lot of great memories have been created on that bike.
So, as I am getting ready to call the donation place, a neighbor reaches out and says his dad wants to take a look at it. I spent most of yesterday afternoon cleaning it up, and this morning, the gentleman came by, looked it over and bought it straightaway. I was surprised for sure! I didnāt think anyone would want it - I committed the cardinal sin, man. I let the bike sit. I figured I killed it. But heās excited about it and is gonna bring it back to its former glory, which makes me glad. It gets to live on with someone who will take care of it. I can definitely live with that.
Adieu, old friend. Iāll see you out on the road.
