Blon 03 hype thread

From Prime Audio Reviews…

possibly the hottest iem of 2019. With its single CNT dynamic driver and basic metal shells, the BL-03 performs better than some much more expensive earphones. It’s loved for its natural tonality and great soundstage.

BL-03 has a very similar bass curve to the T4 but has roughly 4dB more in sub and mid-bass quantity. It’s not quite as tight or controlled at the T4’s bass but it is weightier and more easygoing. It also has a slightly longer decay which gives the overall presentation a touch more warmth and natural feel.

The BL-03 and T4 measure almost identically in the midrange but they don’t sound the same. With its extra bass quantity, the BL-03 infuses the lower midrange with more warmth, giving the mids some extra body and a more natural feel. However, there is a bit of graininess here while the T4, inthe BL-03 has a smaller 5kHz peak making it less edgy plus it has a dip around 11kHz before peaking again around 13kHz. This makes it less bright and again, feels more natural than the T4. I feel the BLON also has slightly better treble timbre.

Personally, I still prefer the BL-03 but it’s important to keep in mind that most people struggle with the BLON’s eartips, nozzle length and stock cable. This means that you would probably need to spend a bit more to get the best performance out of the BL-03 but even then, it’s probably going to still cost less than the T4, assuming you missed the early-bird deals. Of course, the best-case scenario is to own both of these and if you can manage, I highly recommend grabbing at least one of each.

:+1:

I have the T2 and the KZ ZS10pros, i had the T3 which were garbage. Right away i new the T2 where inferior to the KZ 10pros. I just bought the Blon 03 off Drop. So i’ll be able to compare those when they come. It will be interesting to compare them

interesting… I like my t3’s but I did mdo some foam mods. like like the t2s better the the kz regardless fof detail. kz just murder my ears worse than the t3. and blons are my fav in this price point

I think the marketing department relies heavily on this site.

Here’s what I got:

Battle
Legislature
Occupy
Navy

Does anybody know how the ikko oh10 compared to the Blon? Is it worth purchasing the oh10 or are the Blon so close it’s not worth the upgrade?

BGGAR talks about the difference in the video. Kinda.

Hi everyone, I have a question and it would be really nice if you can help me out :pray:t3:

I’m buying the BLON 03 for a friend as a gift—he mentioned he liked having bass presence in his music (he’s not an audiophile) and after multiple sound tests on YT I thought the Blon sounded the best with decent but not overflowing bass.

I still have some money left and am thinking of buying a wire around the price of a Tripowin, should I buy a silver or copper cable? I’m thinking silver since it should add more details to the mids and vocals.

But here comes the question that’s bugging me: what’s the difference between 8 core and 16 core wires? And is it worth the $20 price increase?

Thanks in advance!

In my experience, they dont make a difference in sound. Just how hard the wire is and how long it will last. 8 cores with right color look prettier than 16 core wires. But they all sound the same

Yep tips, it’s all about a good fit and seal, the cable that comes with the 03’s sucks imho :+1:

So got mine, love them, the tuning is great, cable is poor build but actually was fine with my head shape. I love them with my spiral dots, works great for me. For sound they are very similar to my OH10s so ding ding, my new daily driver!!!

How do they compare overall? Why would you replace a much more expensive iem?

The 16 core is going to be thicker and heavier since the cable will be made by 16 strands of cableling. As far as copper or silver it comes down to looks silver conducts best but your not going to be sacrificing anything if you go for copper. None will impact the sound ,anybody tell you otherwise, stay away from them they most likely believe 90% of what they read on the web.lol

I will say though that getting a balanced cable will make a difference in sound. But the whole copper silver thing don’t really bother tbh

I agree if you have the choice of getting a balanced or a regular 3.5 .Go with the balanced it will deliver more power and make your iem sound better.

I’m curious about this too

I said Daily Drive, to clarify, carry back and forth to work to use for monitoring. Its cheaper and sounds better than the Guideray I was previously using for the task. More clarity etc. with voices so its very important to me. Also my OH10 are still my favs, but I would die if something happened to them, if something happened to my Blons I wouldnt feel as bad and buy some new ones asap etc.

EDIT: for sound they are slightly more forward with treble to my hearing, similar sound staging and separation, they are my bass kings with the OH10. The difference in bass is that the OH10 goes lower for me and sounds cleaner due to less mid-bass. Blons have a bit more punch and more quantity a little higher in the bass region so with some music its a bit better. I would say OH10 is slightly less offensive to my musical tastes. Also Blons are slightly more sibilant, but I love them both, now i just need to see about getting my hands on a tape for a contrasting style, or maybe the P1 or Stellar when it releases depending on tuning.

Ah makes sense . Same thing I do with my mh755s I used them when cooking or doing meneal tasks where an iem or headphonecould get fucked up so if it does get fucked up it’s $6 down the drain not a loss

P1’s are my at home choice, the 03’s like you are my everyday work outside drivers…they are both excellent in their own rights and make a great chalk and cheese combo :+1:

Finally found a good use of the stock cable. It’s now just a thing my blons can stick to when I’m the case so I don’t have to wrap and unwrap the cable everytime I want to use it or put it away
