Budget bassy headphones under 100$?

hmm not sure what images well in that price bracket. @Soren_Peregrine @M0N could you help our friend out?

personally I’d say you’re going to have to make a concession here, as for competitive you’re looking a decent sound stage and accurate imaging, but you also want strong powerful bass. Which is a lot to ask out of any headphone without amplification

for the competitive side
mh751 or SENNHEISER PC37X but I’d think both are gonna lack the boom of a bass canon

on the bass canon side
you’re probably looking at the two previously mentioned monoprice retros with bw XL pads or creative aurvana live. Both of which don’t particularly specialize in recreating space with accurate imaging

maybe one of the others can point out an option i’ve overlooked

mh751or takstar pro 82 have more bass ?

MH 751 or takstar pro 82 have more bass?

Can’t answer that, I’d think the takstars but @donjklassen and @Soren_Peregrine have a little more experience with those two it looks like

Pro 82 has the ability to have more because it has adjustable bass ports on both earcups

It’s a really fun and very comfortable headphone :+1:

For ~50$ you can get a pair of Superlux 681 evo and some Brainwavz XL pads for uber comfort.

@ammardien Competitive and bass booming are two very different applications. Competitive you want less bass so as not to drown out things like footsteps and gunshots etc.
It would be hard to have both in one headphone. If you want both, I suggest saving up your money a little bit more and getting two different pairs of headphones. One for competitive gaming, and one for fun bass.

There’s no reason to not have kph30i tho you can get them for 20 at some point

Just getting into the hobby. Have been listening to some CHEAP Sony’s for 10 years. Took Zeos’s review advice and bought the Monoprice Retros’ along with the pads that he recommended. Should arrive tomorrow. (old pair Sony MDR-XD200. Was $25.00 when I bought them 10-12 years ago. Now on Amazon for $199.95?!?!)
