How does this compare with the Violectric V280?

I didn’t have it side by side… i sold my v280 and kept the Phonitor E as it was a better match with more of my hps. I will say the Soloist is better than my Phonitor E with most headphones that I have except Klipsch HP3 and Focal Celstee. Soloist drives my Phi TC to solid levels and plays nicely with the clears, lcdx, and lcd3f. I don’t have the supercharger (was considering buying it) but did roll in 4 sparkos op amps. I may go back to the vivids sometime but it’s nice you can roll the sound profile a bit.

I’ve always wanted a V281 to try with the added power but they never fall down to a price point I would buy it at.

i sold my v280 and bought the soloist x3, i feel like the x3 just sounds more lively. its been a while since ive heard the v280

boy so this is the midnight hour… I’m need to decide if I’m getting in on this at the good price or not… there are some goodies for early adopters I just wish I could get an impression from a reviewer first. I friggin love my 3xp but the GT just keeps calling my name.

Yea… I went ahead and made the order for the GT version. I like the 3XP that I currently own but the GT looked really interesting to me. Not even sure I would sell the Soloist. Maybe just have it setup in a different space for use.

i have a feeling passion for sound never really tried the volume control bypass mode or doesn’t use it for comparisons as it tames a bit of the emphasized treble that he talked about not liking in the XP. good review and it doesn’t make me want it less at all lol. he needs a passive preamp for iem testing to adjust the analog input voltage to attenuate the excess power.

the crossfeed is the only thing that really interests me (crossfeed on the phonitor x(e?) is pretty nice but i just hate that amp) but i would also like more inputs on my soloist as well. i have no doubt it performs better than the soloist but i’m not sure i care to the tune of $1000 on top of the soloist price.

Can someone compare the v280 or v281 vs the soloist 3xp. I’m planning to buy an amp this BF if burson decides to run some deals. There is someone else selling their v281 too.

as less detail than the a90, just that it’s presented a lot differently. Exclusively with the he6 I feel like the a90 is lacking on power from time to time but the he6 isn’t the reason I still own the a90 (though it was the reason I bought it ) and the reason I keep it around is the super low noise floor while still having enough power for basically every headphone out there. It’s nice for ripping apart tracks to actively listen and for gaming I love the complete lack of noise. All of the detail is there on the soloist, and more importantly leaps more resolving power which from what I can tell comes mostly from the class a driving power it has. I would say the burson is a solid choice for everyday listening, a90 for analyzing, and the a21+ for the overall experience. But with the super charger, I’d put th

Yeah it smooths out a little once it’s been warned up for a couple hours. Then last time mine was off was when we got hit by a windstorm and the power went out lol.

What do you guys think about pairing a Schiit Modius with the Soloist? I am hoping i will not need to get a more expensive DAC and my Modius will not bottleneck the Soloist…

The Modius outputs 4V balanced.

Whatever you wind up with I’d recommend also getting a douk U2 pro. It’s done wonders on every DAC I’ve plugged into it and I’ve heard people say it helps with the bifrost so I would think the modius would benefit as well. The precision you gain from the reclock is pretty incredible for the ~$50 it costs and I’d put it as easily the best value piece in my chain.

I actually found it by accident trying to look for solutions to a ground loop I was having at one point and it surprised the hell out of me. I never even knew what a DDC was it has any clue about how much difference clocking could make.

Crazy how much better the bass holds together on the he6, isn’t it?

I actually had to return my HE6 to Hifiman because the right driver was touching the magnets, i will only be able to audition the HE6 in a month or so

But man what these did to my LCD-X is insane! The bass is much stronger, hits harder and is more controlled, also the soundstage is just different! It is not wider i don’t think, but it is more immersive somehow…

I have these for only one hour but the difference is not something i need to A/B at all! It is clear and easy to notice.
