What have I come back to?

If everyone could take a step back and look at what you yourself posted here, carefully considering if it is on topic. In case it is not, click image and then image Thanks!

Everyone wants to be a moderator, sure. And nothing wrong with wanting to be one.
Here is the Moderation Guide from the Discourse developers:

Going through that should give anyone an idea of how much power a moderator has compared to a “regular” (regulars can edit titles/categories, create tags (if enabled) and instantly hide topics from TL0 by flag, etc.) further reading: Guide to Discourse Trust Levels

However: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility!

My last 2ct: Whatever you are, be a good one.

No matter if you are new on the forum (or any other), you can be the voice of reason, ask people to tone it down (three dots → flag → Contact person directly), or just take a step back and reconsider if you want to post that reply.

Hi,
wouldn’t it be better to close this threath to avoid more discussions?
The mods can do it together and think about how to go on.
And see for yourself who might come into question.
It is okay to start a public exchange to hear opinions and improvements ect …
if someone then registers for a post, it would be good if he can also prove a little something so that he can also offer help ect.
I know that everyone has a real life and that has priority is normal.
Or start a survey what the mod should bring, what is important to users.
Although there are good people here who have good knowledge.
Isn’t meant badly from my side, it would be good to get some rest and some order in the Threath.

Before we close the thread let me just reiterate that i think i would make a good moderator and i re-propose my candidacy for moderator. Thank you.

I disagree. You can suggest a headphone upgrade without calling someones current headphones terrible.

Wow j.fopps. not cool. cut my words out of context. really not cool

Not out of context what so ever. The guy is asking for a DAC upgrade, you decide to suggest a headphone upgrade, which is fine, but doing so by calling his current headphones terrible is whats not cool.

j.fopps. he had a 6xx 4xx and a 712

okay, whats your point? im sure he doesnt think theyre terrible or he wouldnt have them.

j.fopps ive had those headphones. ive had a LOT of headphones. And those are perhaps the most boring, dull headphones on the planet. He NEEDS to upgrade his headphones far more than a DAC. Someone has got to tell him.

Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind :slightly_smiling_face:

Nope you dont. A simple “Have you considered upgrading your headphones? I can make some recommendations if you tell me a bit about your desired sound signature and budget” would have been completely fine. VERY bad “moderation” if you ask me.

Isn’t that what Spiderman said?

This is not the place to discuss your personal gripes with each other.

Take it to PMs!

My apologies.

BTW i knew that before the movie came out

yes, these are exactly the things where I thought they would come out.
And that’s not cool.
I can say that Antipage could help me with certain things or had a solution.
And to quote him now from a post where it might not be entirely positive is not a knockout criterion.
There is and has happened to the biggest mods.
So keep the ball flat with something like that, the shot goes backwards with such humiliations.
He will also improve as a mod, that’s for sure, and you have to give them the time to establish themselves.
And I’d rather have someone who makes himself available who wants it than I have to appoint someone who doesn’t want to do it, who can go inside himself and say okay that was good and not that, as someone who doesn’t really want to do it thinks otherwise.
And I also commented on posts that were not helpful, so I’m not a bad forum member.

So don’t forget to stick with the thing, it’s not about antipage itself, and rather a mod more than one too little.
Even if Antipage does not have to decide, his gesture is more than commendable and will also team up with the mods who then teach him ect
