I think it will be under $300 that’s my guess the OG was Like $250ish
It’s 320. Softears Twitter announced it.
What a treat on Christmas Day , Smoking a Turkey and listening to the most wonderous DITA Audio MECHA , these are tuned for the fun factor while incredibly musical and coherent.
What a treat for my ears!
Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday together with loved ones and of course music and food!
I SPY TEQUILA! Well done.
Yesterday I spent the whole evening with the Plunge Unity in my home set up and boy did it rock. Mostly I use it on the go but yesterday I wanted to try it at home and it was so satisfying. Resolved, neutral, fun, balanced and did I mention resolved. It scales with the much better chain I have at home to a very high standard.
Its also important to mention the different tuning and its effect on the sound. A long way from Harman and thats a really good thing for all of you who listen to aucustic music, lots of different instrumentation and music with lots of voices. Not the unnatural view of that Harman will give you in my opinion.
It is also important to remember Gooberbm post about how the plunge tuning works.
Not forgetting how fantastic the fit is.
Mike
As an acoustic music lover, I’m all in for a sound that captures all the nuances of instruments and voices! It’s awesome to hear how the Plunge Unity really brings that to life, especially with its unique tuning. Definitely sounds like the perfect match for those rich, intricate tracks!
Haven’t been getting much listening in for a while. Now of all sets, this is what I have in my ears, and it’s going so well!
After a while of not listening to anything, a mid set can sound pretty great. But an awesome set sounds just that much more awesome than usual.
I typically have the ePro Horn on them as I haven’t found anything that quite tops that synergy however trying them today getting a seal was tricky, and the one on the right slipped off the nozzle too easily and came off in my ear. So I tried some “bamboo” tips I had, and the detail/treble is preserved while having strong bass too.
I wish Simon would have produced the open back version I have maybe in the future.
The Plungies are a true monitor IEM nothing comes close! And the fitnyeah that nozzle angle isncorrect and makes everything else seem off.
Happy New Years!
Look what surprisingly showed up KAEI DESIGN Tap1 Pro and PSU2, Running from Cayin N3Ultra in tube mode as well! From the new BC44PRO 4.4 ddHiFi signal cable The AFUL P7 never sounded better!

Ok tonight’s review and shootout the new ddHiFi TC35CM2 USB-C to 3.5 SE Adapter
Tested with Letshuoer Audio S12 2024 still the Planar to beat IMO and a great IEM to test whether the dongles have enough power to drive a Planar.
PROS:
High Quality Build
Soft yet flexible Cable
Premium Looks
No Frills all Business
45mW @ 32ohms has enough power to play most IEM’S
Nice wide open stage
Quite Un- Colored Netrual Sounding
Dynamic and Resolving
Volume Scales Nicely 0-100 steps
CONS:
Really None except the $39.99 price tag is more expensive than other offerings
Vs AKLAIM PD3 $29.99
RGB Light
Metal Build
Heftier Build
Cable is not as durable with the braided design where the DDHIFI is PVC Coated and will last longer
Now when it comes down to what really matters SOUND:
The PD3 sounds grainer not the best implementation of the Cirrus Logic DAC Chips where the TC35CM2 sounds smoother , less digital and less grainy.
The DDHIFI has a more natural sound with a bigger and wider stage as well.
When it came down to tambre and tonality of vocals and instrumental the TC35CM2 was also the clear winner for my ears as well.
Conclusion:
For $10 More the TC35CM2 is the clear winner, premium Build and Smooth Un-Colored Sound with less power than the PD3 it still had enough to more than drive a harder to power Planar IEM’S louder than my comfort zone would allow.
Thanks for reading. TDM
Ok this was interesting, ddHiFi New Nyx Net Cables
BC130 NET $399 and $450 the difference bieng the Pentaconn Branded Plug.
So my question I wanted answered was is the $50 extra for a plug worth the extra?
DDHIFI markets the upgrade as “Adding a richer Mid-Bass presence”
Answer: YES
There is a definitive sonic change , it’s subtle but no doubt I can hear a change to the playback.
It took me about 10 times listening to this track “Chasing Cars” from Chantal Chamberland to come to this conclusion.
I was skeptical so I wanted to make sure this wasn’t just my brain.
So I had help while blindfolded and my daughter kept switching cables same IEM the NiceHCK Audio Himalaya- love this IEM as it has a fantastic tonality and outstanding Midbass presence.
Source was The KAEI DESIGN Tap1 and PSU2 power supply - falling hard with this incredible sounding amp.
IBasso Audio DC180 as my music transport player playing this losless Tidal Track.
What I hear to my ears is to simply describe it as a Analoge Smoothness , a richness to the music that differs from the standard plug.
The OFCC copper shielded cable has immediately made my OMG I am not ever taking the Pentaconn version off of this IEM synergy!
These are not cheap cables but the build quality and astethetics are fantastic.
I will share a couple of marketing shots with some of the specs. If you are not familiar with DDHIFI cables, I would recommend a look.
For you non cable believers you need not respond as this topic normally generates a very polar responses, I would like to keep this positive.
I can hear a difference If you can’t that’s OK as well.
Also great job DDHIFI on the new flat 2 pin terminations as a alternative to the recessed version. IT LOOKS GREAT!
Do you mind me asking if these were bought from DDHifi or received from them? Sorry if it’s mentioned and I missed it.
DdHiFi provided me the cables.
Interesting comparison! It’s always nice when a subtle upgrade like this really makes a difference, especially with that smooth analog richness. I’m curious, though, how do you feel about the overall value for money when it comes to cables like these—do you think it’s something only audiophiles would notice, or would casual listeners pick up on it too?
I think buying $400 cables is like chasing butterflies.
Other than the slight sonic difference cables make your better off buying eartips and sources.
Now if you have the extra money and want the bling factor buying quality cables do it.
I have bought Tonnes $1000’s of money on cables Hakugei, HINXS, IVIPQ, DDHIFI and NiceHCK and Effect Audio.
Now I get sent samples as I won’t be buying any more and spending more I am done with cables.
Out of all the cables the NiceHCK between cable to cable makes the least sonic difference, Hakugei did but quality and poor customer service ended that.
I think with all my use the DDHIFI Nyx series offers best value and sound and mostly has to do with thier shielding tech if you were going to spend more than $100.
Chasing butterflies to gain the most precious ones are for the people who can afford to maybe gain a small sonic difference and are happy with small gains.
Mail Call the EPZ P50 came in.
$209. Tribrid the unboxing makes some kilobuck offerings seriously embarrassed!
Very interested to findvout how these sound they look stunning
