Yeah Hiby Yacht 10 vs iBasso Klee both metal shells both drivers simular if not the same you can simply EQ the $129 Hiby 10 to the same as the $70 Klee but why even bother is my point just buy the better tuned less expensive IEM.
As one that just started my ‘modern’ IEM discovery journey a few weeks ago, I must say all that I’ve tried in the ~$100-$150 range simply pales in comparison to the $200-$300 range. Sure, it’s twice the money but is it really that much at the end of the day. For me, no.
I don’t know but I suspect the value sweet spot is currently this $200-300 range and diminishing returns hit hard after and/or one is just trading preference for preference. I’ve learned from here and elsewhere that these $2-300 IEMs 2 years ago were the subjectively ~$700-$1000 models. Tech advancement is fantastic.
Key for me was finding that wild and crazy Canuck TDM (hey hoser!) that I share exceedingly similar auditory preferences, age (I’m 58) and likely life induced hearing damage/alterations like tinnitus. We even share hair styles
So far the recommendations he likes are the IEMs I like. Minus or plus a couple but they are mostly personal quirks like the unwanted bone conduction using the Dunu Da Vinci. I love how they sound and I would keep them for specific genres save for the transmission of every creak in my neck and jaw…
I end this with Coo-Roo-Coo-Coo-Coo-Coo-Coo-Coo! Take Off, Eh? to all my friends and family in BC
I think your right on the price points withsome exceptions.
And a mail call with TRN JAWS $129.00 3 Coaxially mounted Dynamic Drivers 4 Balanced Armature’s and a 6mm Planar holy crap.
Nice, look forward to the review. Build quality and accessories looks solid for 130.
What does everyone feel now that most ChiFi brands call the Balanced Armature they use as “Custom” instead of actually listing the manufacturer?
For me I am now saying Bellsing BA in my reviews if manufacturers won’t list Knowles or Sonion and I encourage everyone else to do so also.
I think this is only fair as they use the same models as Knowles and Sonion to make it sound like it something you might be familiar with.
I kinda feel this has really changed over the last year and more and more companies are doing it.
Do note that it isnt only Bellsing, it could be LS/E-Audio.
Yeah who knows?
Best would be to just call it a non Knowles/Sonion driver, as I am not sure if there is another BA maker besides them and Bellsing, LS/E-Audio.
Not a fan of the use of simular model numbers tho, but it might some context to the
corresponding clone they used?
I’m your triplet. 59, similar sonic preferences to the esteemed Monk, tinnitus sufferer from life stupidity and … most importantly, BALD.
I belive they risk legal action since the IP was stolen from Knowles? Therefore I imagine that Bellsing/e-audio require that they NOT say the brand when selling internationally.
Someone with more industry insight (I have none) should really comment here
The numbers are indeed referencing the model they use. So Knowles 22955 = clone 22955.
The other one (50060) is unfamiliar to me and I cant find it.
Do note that some driver such as the 22955 can have multiple versions. Like being vented or not. They might differentiate it with “22955-000” or “22955-001”.
Only in the US where Knowles won that lawsuit and its illegal for anyone to use Bellsing drivers for stuff sold there.

Hair care is just easier this way!
Is TRN Jaws a competitor to Dynaquattro? I see that you have them on squiglink, can you write more about them? How do they compare to Dynaquattro?
Love the Dynaquattro can’t take 5 min with Jaws , it’s like sensory overload for me just too much information up top.
A great IEM at $129 but not for me.
Yes, KZ, TRN are too bright, I don’t like it.
I also love dynaquattro and its timbre, powerful subbass and smooth treble, do you know of any upgrade for Dyna up to $600? I was thinking about Oriveti OH700VB, can it compete with Dynaquattro?
Mega5EST, perhaps? Just tossing it out there.
Yeah the 700VB is still one of my absolute favorites. Nothing else is really popping out.
