I’m more setting things up for portable use if anything. Have ALAC and FLAC at home, while having stuff like AAC uploaded in the cloud to stream portable or something of that sort.
I might do that if I ever have a job that asks me to travel. But until then I can get by with just streaming from spotify and FLAC at home.
That or spend money on a dap…
(Daps should have the option to run USBC to an SSD for File storage.
Some daps have that feature. You also might be interested in something like the aurender flow
XLD runs on Catalina just fine. You just have to allow the app in the Security & Privacy settings.
The only issue I have noticed is that some of the menus don’t look right in dark mode. There’s already a bug report open on that.
Well that’s a relief
I cant upgrade personally cause some of my screenwriting and editing programs would break.
Does anybody know of cd rip software that tips dsd?Is that a thing?Right now I use acr,and ripping to flac.
To rip sacd you need a modified ps3
Why would you need a playstation 3?and not a regular pc
You can do it with other ways as well. In order to effectively extract the DSD data out of a SACD, there are certain limitations designed to prevent you from gaining access to the raw DSD data for DRM and copyright reasons. A method was found by using an exploit in a ps3 in order to extract the raw DSD data. You can do this with some select blu ray players as well
I would suggest looking up a guide on how to do this. Also if you don’t have a Super Audio CD, there is no DSD on there anyway
Is all the struggle really necessary? What would be the difference between having dad files and having my fiio m11 convert flac files to dsd?
Good question lol, the whole dsd vs pcm is something to consider. The main reason I prefer sacd’s is that they were typically remastered to a higher quality for sacd’s so it’s more the better mastering rather then the actual format itself imo
