The Gold Planar GL400 is technically a planar, though more of an on-ear form factor.

Took a look at Monoprice but they’re a couple $ more. Went ahead and ordered Hifiman HE400i 2020.

what’s differing with the 2020 over previous 400i?
New headband design. Haven’t tried it on, but since the 4XX was uncomfortable for me, I’m really tempted to get the 2020 400i because it looks very comfortable.

Yep, that’s what I got.
I wonder if it’s just a 4xx rebranded as a 2020.
The 4xx is a Drop-branded version of the 400i. They’re essentially the same pair of headphones. The only difference with the 2020 update on the 400i is the headband.
which is much needed as both old versions of the headbands are lacking in the durability department hopefully I dont see yokes cracking in a year.
