Chi-fi Champs (IEM)

Ordered a pair after watching the review… damn. But you gotta love Bruce, man. Even chose the express shipping…

@hawaiibadboy really enjoyed the video because of the music, but could you describe the tonality of these (compared to sth like the Blons which a lot of us know)?

Smoother Vocal centric ala Moondrop A8. Warmish (usually hand in hand with smooth) but lots of detail. Cymbal crashes sound complete. Not large stage but not intimate. Seems to match expected playback. The Born to Run track is a big presentation and it comes through like a f’ing champ.

Thanks! Was hoping for something that’s not V-shaped

Do the tuning options change it much? I think there are 2 dip switches right?

It’s not much, but Linsoul’s having 5% off for Chinese New Year

I fully agree with you! Have you come across any top mids?? Btw do you use a dac or dap with the kz zsx? I’m thinking of getting one just to get rid of white noise at low volumes.

I don’t power the ZSX in any special way, they’re usually plugged into my (ANCIENT) iPod Touch and they sound great.
Still on the hunt for top mids, and serious about it too
For now - what I gather from reviewers - strictly in terms of mids the Tin P1 is still king, and BGGAR seemed to indicate the ThieAudio Voyager 3 is amazing for mids. Would love to hear people’s opinions of the Voyager, I’d buy them if I weren’t broke

Have been using the Voyager 3 and emotions are kinda mixed. It sounds good, better than Ikko OH10 but nothing mindblowing. Just another decent IEM under 200.
But two things annoy me - the fit and the cable connections. In terms of fit, they just keep popping out of my ears and I cannot get a good seal, no matter what tips i use. It gets worse with a hat ofcourse.
And the connectors - its not a regular 2 pin, its raised. So you cannot use your good cables. Also the stock cable keeps coming off quite easily from the IEMs.

Out of curiosity, how much have you messed around with the tuning switches? What is your favorite configuration? And what do you prefer about it over the OH10?

The OH10 sounded totally overdone in bass region and completly lacking in vocals. These sound more natural, musical.

Dip switches - bass and treble basically. Without them on it sounds kinda boring but I guess quite neutral. I prefer with bass boost (maybe because I cant get a good fit). With the treble boost these sound horrific, the treble wants to kill you… at least to me

Would I rec them? Maybe. Would have to hear the Starfield and T4 first. Would chose these over OH10 and Tin P1. P1 sounded soulless and harsh to me and even dedicated DAP had to be pushed with those. Not worth it in my opinion.

after sifting throught some of the mostly garbage qkz cataloge and ordering and trying some IEMs I finally found one I can actually call great for the price at a whopping $6.09 the QKZ KD7 looks very much like the somewhat similar but killed me in the treble qKZ ck8 but sounds better. build wise the cable is alright uses a generic rubber cable a lot or eabuds and IEMs at this price point uses but not the old shitty one that you get with cheap phillips and sony IEMS. the kd7 for a KZ IEM is smooth not sennheiser or b and o smooth but smooth for a kz product especially this cheap nothing bothers me. though I can detect a bit of shoutyness in the upper mids to lower treble so if your swensitive to that be warned. the mids can sound a bit recessed , the bass response is strong not boomy but strong and controlled, the treble like I said can be shouty at the lower registries but pretty smooth with pretty minimal treble spikes that I can detect at about 8.5 to 10k but thats just me guessing with my ears no actual measurements. separation is acceptable, imaging is pretty ok. timbre at this price point is pretty great the treble is somewhat natural the mids can sometimes sounds a tiny bit metallic in some songs partly attributed to the songs themselves, and the bass is natural and hard to fault at this price point. for $6 I might grab a few more pairs to give away to people.
it’s a solid " kanoya has seemingly run out of mh755 stock and almost out of 750s but I still have $6 I want to spend so I might as well get this out of pure curiosity cause some dude on the internet said it was better than the 755s but honestly it’s really not / 10"
