yeah, exactly how I hear the amp, compared to the RNHP. Glad I’m not crazy… lol
I can definitely see how someone might find it too “thin” sounding. It definitely adds a lot of “air” to the sound… and feels less weighty.
So regarding your power situation, I would be very careful with other higher end amps then as they might be pretty sensitive as well
Does he really need a stupidly expensive power conditioner? Would one under $200 work?
Something like this guy?
Actually really intrigued getting an Asgard 3 because of its high power output but I’m sorta nervous I’ll be disappointed if it’s not as revealing and clean as I’d hoped. If it’s anything similar to the Atom it’d be fine but I doubt it is
I think it’s about as revealing as the atom tbh but with more body. It is good but I don’t know if it’s the step up in performance you crave from the atom
Yea exactly, besides power it’d pretty much not be an upgrade I guess.
I do think it would help out the sundara tho because it can benefit from more power
What about a burson soloist sl mk2? That might be something too look into as people say the psu in there is pretty good
No the 2.5 don’t get the 2 for argon’s
The 2.5 Pro still only has 1 watt into 16 ohms. That’s the same as the Atom and compared to the SP200 for instance which was pushing 6 watts into the Argons it was an absolute night and day difference.
I personally wouldn’t get a g stack for the argons tbh, but for other headphones the 2.5 is pretty great
I’d honestly be fine with a THX amp if it wasn’t for these awfully scratchy mids. They sound horrible. And if the topology already falls apart on headphones under 1000$ I don’t wanna know how bad they sound on real high end headphones.
Not the best lol. It still sounds decent, but they really don’t sound like what you paid for them lol. If you get a high end headphone, getting a high end amp should be something to consider
Their online staff via livechat is also super helpful.
Probably not. Something cheaper Furman M-10x E for 120€ could work. Or get a good UPS and hook PC and everything else up behind it.
Time to get a rack and slowly but surely build a studio /s
@M0N do you think this could be worth a shot? It’s only 20 bucks and looks incredibly intriguing https://www.thomann.de/gb/palmer_purifier_power_conditioner.htm
That diamond and poop icons on either side. lol
I am not too familiar with power conditioners tbh
It probably depends what the actual issue is.
What does it sound like, usually power noise has a very noticeable 50/60 Hz component.
I’ve never had noise from my power, I know some houses have bad grounds, but I’d expect tying the grounds together by running everything off the same socket ought to fix that.
If it’s some sort of higher frequency noise on the power, you’d probably want to know where it was coming from, but you might fix that with those sorts of filters.
I assume you tried the turn everything else off to try and identify the source thing.
