Comparing the JDS Labs Atom and SMSL SP200 THX AAA 888

I mean I do like the su8 and that’s my pick as I think it sounds around similar to the d50s.

Oh btw on the same note, is there any difference between the Clears and the Clears Professional? I could get a brand new pair of Clears Professional for 1100$ but I don’t know if they’re different from the standard Clears

They have a different color scheme and a different cable, that’s all

Well, if they’re anything like cars, the red coloring makes them perform better.

Bwahahahaha dont forget the racing stripes lol. Why not go for the Enog 2 pro dac? Also very good I heard

That’s a good choice imo, I wasn’t thinking of it lol. I would go with that if it can get to him

AGS ships worldwide. A lot of the amason links i.e don’t ship to me. So i ship to the AGS adress closes to where im buying from and then they ship to me. Very quick and reasonably priced.

The issue is I don’t live in the US and the enog 2 would also take weeks, let alone the import fees and taxes. All in all including shipping, taxes and import fees, the enog 2 would roughly cost me 320$ to import + a stupid long wait :-1:t2:

Do you have a link handy? That sounds awesome! What’s the pricing for their service?

But first, speak to Sheri from Geshelli. They do international shipping for $25. Not sure where you stay but South Africa is very far from the US. But here is the link https://www.aramexglobalshopper.com/en/login

They charged me about $14 where musicteck charged $50 for the same item. They are a tad bit cheaper than amazon as well. Read up on them. I like the way they work.

There is a once off fee of $10 i think for a lifetime membership if im not mistaken. Where do you live?

That unfortunately won’t help me. I’ve been in contact with Geshelli and they said they can’t really help me evade tax and import fees since labeling goods lower than what they’re worth is illegal. It’s not the shipping that’s making the Geshelli stuff too expensive, it’s the import fees and tax.

Label as “replacement parts”, send invoice via email.
Been there, done that.

Wouldn’t that technically be me asking them to essentially help me in tax fraud? Sounds sketchy af

yes

It kind of is. You will find a different DAC to work arround this.

If you don’t want to do that I would say the su8 v2 has all the features you would want for the price (except wireless), and sounds great

@M0N, have you heard the Little Labs Monotor? Wonders how it compares to the RNHP. Also, I currently have an RME ADI-2 Pro. How does the amp on it compare to RNHP? Thanks, dude!

Hmmm I haven’t heard that in a while lol, from memory I think the rnhp is an improvement, but it has been a while with that one

Thanks for the fast response. I’m thinking that between my RME and the SP200, solid-state is covered for most situations. Still, I can’t help but wonder if the RNHP would be a better fit for my set-up.

What headphones are you using?
