You are probably shorting something. Check with a multimeter.
ahhhh found it. Pins two and three on the xlr connector had a tiny piece of copper / solder barely touching. Cut it out of the way and hiss / shitty noise is gone.
Thanks!
Im just waiting to hear from Hart about a 2-pin iem cable along with a pentacon to dual xlr cable, and I will be adding them to my inventory
I should be getting mine soon where I got a couple of different things that would allow me to create custom connectors like using interconnects out to Dual RCA or Dual XLR with a extender that’s female on both sides. Told @brux to surprise me with the color selection and he says they got creative, so I’m excited!
Not sure about the 2-pin…I’m sure it’d work, but the Paracord might feel a little heavy on an IEM. Might have to try it for my KZ ZS10 Pros.
I know Brux has reported other people like them for the MMCX connectors, side by side pictures didn’t look much thicc-er than an aftermarket cable that was braided and was more flexible than the braid.
Please report back on what you hear. I was curious about having one ordered after I saw his MMCX cables.
I have the MMCX version and doesn’t feel heavy to be honest, so I’m looking forward to what he can pull off. I simply know he is rather busy, but I feel like spoiling myself a wee bit for my b-day… even though there is no way I will be getting them by then.
I have the MMCX as well and use them with my M300s, but the connector is at the bottom and it has an ear hook, so the weight isn’t as noticeable. Might have to try them on my Shuoer Tapes now.
Can you get a closer picture of the connection at the ear cups? Those look to match the size of the recess, I haven’t had much luck looking for the same size and contemplated 3d printing a donut to fill the gap.
The rean 3.5mm work on Focals just fine.

New “shorty” 2 pin 2.5mm balanced IEM cable for Fiio BTR5 or Earstudio ES100. Perfect length for a device to be worn around the neck so you can ensure the mic works great.
Oooh. How did you do the covering for the wire? That looks sexy af
I take it you mean on the ends of the 2pin connector side? It’s a special type of clear shrinkwrap that has an adhesive inside that activates when heated. I also create the bend so that it fits properly over the ear as I heat it. There is no other covering of the cable used, it’s just a hand braid of single core wires that end up being 8 cores in total. Thanks for the compliment! It’s a pretty cable for sure!
Another even shorter “shorty” cable for a custom order to an Audeeze LCD X to Fiio BTR5.
@Nick_Mimi has suggested that I create a similar cable to this with Burl wood “Y” splitter and adjuster. I’ll be looking into creating them for his cable soon!

Another one of my “survives encounter with office chair” cables.
The 3/8" jack was not meant to take this diameter of cable.
I’m just here to say wow so I can follow this thread, great work
Yet another shitty cable. 1/4 TRS male to 4 pin xlr female. Now I can run my eikons single ended lol.
I see peaty whiskey lol
More peat == better imo
I love them all…Lowland, Highland and the Isles, Irish and Japanese
