🔷 Dan Clark Audio Aeon 2 (MrSpeakers)

:+1: :+1: :+1:, my ether c flow 1.1’s left within 4 days ish of getting the aeon 2 closed lol

Excellent build and comfort for me, and the fact that they fold now is just great

Yeah I’m hoping I did. I’m just not as big on closed back overall but I would like to get a decent closed pair. Maybe I’ll start off small and get something like the 177x go for a starter closed pair. Rather than jumping into a high price closed pair. Or I’ll save my first closer pair in years for something like the Eikons since I know I can trust Zmf lol.

The Eikons are my favorite headphone, so I’d support this move

Thank you. I appreciate your support. I need someone to support my bad habits lol. Kidding my gf was surprisingly not bothered When I said I wanted them ha. I think she understands that I’m extra bored being stuck at home.

Are the pads more easily removable this time around or glued still?

Still glued on.

Yay! Haha. You think they’d have taken time to change that system. Oh well I guess at least they don’t make changing them too difficult.

My poems are here :+1::grimacing:

Immediately I was glad I went with the opens lol. They’re closer to semi open. Any more closed and I may have gotten claustrophobic lol.

I can instantly tell these are actually pretty balanced sounding with a little bit of a bass bump.

They were new or open box correct? They do have a decent sized burn in period, it should just get better as you go lol

Yeah they’re new. Yeah I agree. And if so then great because it do like them quite a bit already. I needed to have one higher-mid end planar as the only planar I owned previously was the 4xx. These immediately blow them away obviously.

How is comfort and build for you?

The soundstage feels pretty wide. Probably wider than anything else I have at the moment. Very full sounding too. I like

Oh yeah comfort is out of this world haha. I immediately felt I have to try them for gaming since they’re the most comfortable I have now beside maybe the hawks. Build is great. Very solid but light. The folding is nice although I’ll likely never use the folding lol.

Actually a pretty nice feeling cable too. I don’t have complaints about it. I went with the xlr since I have a 1/4 inch and 2.5 adapter anyway. I figure I’ll have a cable made for them anyway.

And thank goodness they’re small/slim enough I can lay my head down with them on. Huge plus! :+1:

I will also say the red looks so much better in person. So much better. I honestly didn’t like it from pictures.

I’ve been looking for Aeon2 C for a couple of weeks, curious about the imaging in the games  I’ve returned the 660s because those were uncomfortable for my ears and Aeon2 C would be my next choice.
So, did you played anything recently, is the position accurate? Also regarding comfort…are your ears getting sweatier ?

Positioning is great and they pick up details so well. I was play call of duty on them. I’m sure you could get better if you were only searching for gaming. I read that the stage is wider and imaging is better on the open vs the closed.

Apparently the frequency response is super close on both but open is better in those two aspects. I also personally don’t like closed back for gaming since I feel like I shout into the mic not hearing myself.

I haven’t heard the closed but damn and I loving these. They’ll likely be my go to for gaming for now. I actually play at lower volume than usually since they pick up so much.
