Perhaps try a rnhp next lol

thanks for the info epic225, youve answered a lot of my questions

Also I found the volume on the old OG Magni 3 needs to be turned up higher than the Heresy to get the same sound level.

Like if I’m at 2 O’clock on the Heresy, I’m at about 3 O’clock on the OG magni 3… Not a big deal, but its something that I noticed as I expected the OG to be more powerful, but it doesn’t seem to be.

mhp?? I’m a little lost …lol

Rupert Neve RNHP, awesome at the price range

Looks different, I’d like to get my hands on one to review. I wonder if I have hit a window as far as solid state headphone amps go. All the good ones sound really, really, really close… so far anyway.

Once you step up to the higher tier of headphones the differences get more noticable

Compression is an audio effect, commonly used in mastering among other places.
Basically it reduces the difference between quiet sounds and loud sounds, I.e. it reduces the dynamic range.

Compression in music is good and a necessary tool, dynamic compression in an amp is not that good

I mean I think I place it higher than a thx for sure. It’s pretty awesome

i wouldn’t mind a teal color Archel 2.5 to go with my black/smoke ENOG 2. I know they were hustling hard before Christmas, I think today is their first day back.

For the rnhp? Nahhhh, but the g stack will do you just fine for sure

Yeah, I mean I use the rnhp as the amp I use when I master using headphones even though I have higher tier amps, I really trust it for what it delivers for studio work. The G stack is great though and I would just stick with that for your purposes, but the rnhp depending on what you get in the future could be a potential upgrade option along with others.

There is a difference with it, but you would really want to get higher end headphones to notice that difference, so for right now it doesn’t make sense imo. I am using it on some fairly high tier headphones that benefit from it (and a pretty dang good dac)
