Ah my bad lol, I thought you said polk, don’t know what I was thinking
The l82 are actually pretty nice, although I have only heard them briefly. I don’t think they do nearfield that well though, so that’s something to take into account
Okay. I was just wondering purely for the sake that I like those grilles
I wonder how well the harbeth’s do with modern music like hiphop, synth and other stuff
I actually like mine with more modern music, not the best if that’s what you listen to the most, but they actually preform well (at least the bigger harbeth that is)
Yeah. Its something to consider since I listen to a massive mix of genres and don’t have any preferences.
also video (from a bluray) but since that’s mostly vocals I’m sure it’ll do fine in that regard
As do I lol, I just listen to whatever I find interesting (so pretty much everything except modern country)
Cool. I still have a choice between the Harbeths and PMC bookshelves. So I have to do a bit more auditioning. Preferably with a dap with my own playlist
Which pmc are you considering again?
The twentyfive 21 or 22
i don’t know if they have the i variant for sale yet
Ah yes that’s right, those are great all rounders. I think if you wanted something accurate yet enjoyable that would be my pick. Also something pretty sweet you might want to look at would be the ATC SCM19 v2, def something to look into
https://www.entracteaudio.com/atc-speakers-.html these are all the ATC speakers that are non pro monitors available in Toronto
I would really check out the 19, really nice speaker, I kinda prefer it to the pmc in this price range
Cool. I’m having trouble figuring out how big the 19 is
17.2" x 10.4" x 11.8"
Oh that’s not too bad.
Huh I can also get their professional passive monitors in Toronto too
For their pro monitors, I would recommend going powered for ATC
Just for reference, do you reccommend any passive studio monitors?
Yeah, it depends on the application
It would be for mixing on independant film work, industrials/corporates and advertisements. So Vocals and SFX more so than musical tracks (as they’d already be mixed and mastered for us to lay into the track and just futz with levels) and very rarely working with stems.
also imaging is important.
