Yeah, that really looks like it says ‘BS’… Either an oversight or marketing being honest for once? :man_shrugging:

Very unfortunate choice of font there :joy: I heard it at AVS in Warsaw in October and it left a good impression! I think it could be good. Show impressions are always unreliable though.

Obligatory Flash Gordon reference:

I like the ‘soft ear tips’ part. As if there are also rock hard ones on the market :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: That cable looks extremely utalitarian, which IMO is fine if it is durable and manageable.

Ironically there are actually tips that are pretty “hard”.

This iirc is the hardest one i have tried.

Yep and that was a hard pass from me too :grimacing:

There’s two generations of Symbios, especially the Ws; the OGs were a darker color and were stiffer yet had a more concave, “domed” shape to them which increased with size (L curvier than M, M than S, etc) while the newer ones still sold today have a softer foam AND silicone (at least by feel) but are more elongated or “barrel” shaped. They fit and feel completely different, but the sound differences are neglible to my ears. If you thought the old style were too stiff, you may be surprised by the new ones.

1st gen on the left, new gen on the right. Both size S.

These are similar in make to Zeos’ Render tips right? I do have the Renders, not the Symbios.

Same idea, at least: Foam cores inside a silicone shell. Not sure how they are different in terms of specific types of foam and silicone used or dimensional differences but yeah, should be very similar.

Yeah i hated the old one which i believe is the one I tried.

The old ones did have the advantage of being a solid and secure fit for oddly-shaped IEMs or really short nozzles IMO, but “liquid silicone” or TPE tips do fit security better now and the newer Symbios are MILES better in terms of comfort.

How many years ago where these? both look different to what I remember?

Geeze…I think the OGs were up until like 2021/22 maybe? I’ve had the dark ones since I had OG Andromedas and the new style I purchased maybe…2 years ago? The old ones also came in a little Paper Sack back when you basically had to get them through their own site or on eBay (at least here in the US), the newer style can be had multiple places I think? Pic related, I still have an old Classic Sack with spare tips in it:

Back when they were called Manderines (which I think is the actual company branding, before they just became Symbios). Their site seems to imply the current ones dropped in 2023:
